I just wonder what the hell the interactions between Odor and the hitting coach must be like... and Banister insisting on hitting Odor 5th is inexcusable. Has he hit lower than 5th all year? At this point I have more confidence in Gallo at the plate than I do Odor

What the hell is going on with Odor?

The wave

Odor has the second worst infield fly rate in MLB and his HR per fly ball is 10%...that's bad. And the worst of his career.

He's also making less contact out of the zone than usual.

In other words he's missing more than usual when he swings and when he connects it's less line Drive and more pop up. He's uppercut happy and trying to go to the RF porch every at bat.

Iapoce and Banny have their work cut out.

I'm thinking he hit too many HR in the WBC and first week of the season so it's all he's goi hip there to do now

except he did this the 2nd part of last year as well, from what I recall

Lucroy is getting up there with Rueben Mateo in terms of hype/disappointment

Although to be fair, I now remember Mateo suffering a bad led injury

When you don't walk, and Odor basically never does, you try and swing your way out of slumps.

It's a bad formula for most guys and in Odor's case could very easily cap his ceiling.

So it's "really good baserunning" to take 3rd when a wild pitch bounces a third of the way toward 1st base?

there is a line between supporting your player through a slump and then doing it to the point that you ruin them - either through completely destroyed confidence or being allowed to absolutely abandon plate discipline with no repurcussions. i put both Tolleson and Dyson's vicious flameouts firmly on Bannister's shoulders. And I'm worried about more guys on this roster.

Yeah...not on Banny IMO.

When you go for it most years and trade young guys for now guys it depletes depth. And the one year they were bad enough for a high pick they busted with Dillon Tate.

Banny is managing with one hand tied behind his back with the personnel he's been given in the pen which is only amplified by Yu being pedestrian by his standards, no Hamels(who was awful when he was healthy) and spares after that in the rotation.

Banny's far from perfect but he's pretty far down the list of what's wrong with the team.

We're three weeks removed from Dyson being the reason we weren't one game behind the Astros and who kept calling for him out of the pen?

Rougie has been awful and is still batting fifth with no sign of him dropping. There's a lot of issues but I wouldn't put Banny low on the list and I like the guy.
