Alvarez gets 2 quick outs, walks the next batter and gets the quick hook. Jeffress relieves him and gives up multiple walks and hits and Bannister still has him in. You can't make this **** up.
Back to looking not sharp at all last few days.
So yeah I would say that's about it from jeffress for a week or so. All of this with two effing outs. Brutal.
Jeffress is absolutely useless. With how the reliever role operates, I really don't see the value in sticking with a reliever that isn't cutting it. It can do so much damage to your club in a short amount of time. It's not like letting a hitter battle thru.a slump.
Milwaukee bent JD over in the Lucroy/Jeffress trade. Yeesh.
I think we way overused Jefferes in April and are suffering the consequences.

Because eventually you are going to run out of relievers... you'd prefer to have a guy who has proven he can get outs "find it" again rather than going to guys who have proven nothing.
If Texas climbs back into this race, Sam Dyson and Jeffress will get big outs down the stretch.

Not saying you leave them in the ditch forever, but the quick hook to go to a guy who has steuggled for 10 outings makes no sense.

Missed called strike right down the middle of the plate snowballed into a big inning and now that blown call. This could be a completely different game.

On the tag replay, the main issue that I saw was there wasn't any clear visual separation between the glove and Mazara's arm. It didn't appear to make contact until he touched the plate, but without some clear separation, I can see where it's tough to say it conclusively missed him.

Apparently they weren't reviewing the tag at all, but instead the home plate collision rule.
