Yes.... Winning is fun.

This just in... Andrus is LEADING the team in BA with a .276 (in 145 ABs). Team .223.

For reference.. in 2012, the team had a .272 BA FOR THE SEASON. Andrus was 4th on the team with a .286. Gentry and Murphy had .304 BA FOR THE SEASON.

Chirinos is at .297, but that is in limited (37) ABs.

Winning cures all.

AND... we can look forward to Adrian Beltre coming back. I'm hoping this was a bit of a changing of the guard for Andrus. With Odor and Gallo both 23, Andrus 28 is the veteran.

Even Gallo is above the Mendoza line.

I'm still tempering my excitement a bit with Texas needing late inning heroics to win their last 4 at home against some fairly mediocre teams... but too many pieces of this team were playing far below their conservatively expected production... So anything that helps this team "remember what winning is like" could be helpful.

So Beltre is expected back in the next couple weeks. Who's going down? Gotta think Rua

Thought this was a fun comparison...Rangers have three players with a wRC+ of 100 or more:

So nothing earth shattering. Astros are the best team in baseball right now(combining 2nd in team wRC+ and 2nd in team xFIP) but the quartet of Maz, Odor, Gomez, and Napoli as a group have been really bad.

They can't stay that bad as a group all year right? Maz and Odor need to be on the list above. Gomez is a wildcard.

Man Lucroy has been bad. And he's not this bad. Over the past three years he's been second in baseball In combined WAR. Of course Posey is first.

So far this season he's freaking 10th.

So considering the offensive performance of the everyday lineup, for them to only be two games under 500 is pretty encouraging. Even as competition ramps up beyond SD and OAK the Rangers might be due for some positive regression. Which, considering their 2016 season and the commentary around it, is pretty ironic.

To add to that, the starting rotation has been pretty damn salty. They haven't gotten the credit they deserve because they either haven't gotten the run support or the bullpen has collapsed behind them, but they're playing lights out right now:

Telling moment - an (un)intentional walk to Gallo ahead of Rua. More a sign of respect for Gallo or pathetic hitter behind him? Gallo has 12 HR. Shouldn't he merit a bit of lineup protection at this point?

You have to admit... a rotation of Darvish, AJG, Cashner, Perez and Martinez doesn't really strike fear in opposing eyes. You can't tell me that rotation was very good on paper coming into the season.

Guessing Gomez is out at least 10 games. That's gonna hurt. He's been huge defensively and offensively during this run.
