Disappointing all the way around. Yu was mediocre at best. Bullpen sucked. The long balls were fun but no offense outside of that.

Not the best start to the season, but there were a few bright spots in Gomez, Mazara, Odor and Elvis. Thank God baseball is back!

Howdy y'all. New follower (I don't know if you remember me from a few months ago). I watched the game tonight and have to say that, while the loss was disappointing, it was fun. I really liked Odor (and Darvish at the beginning). Looking forward to more!

More friends are Rangers fans and it's always seemed like Houston teams (be it the Astros, Rockets, Texans) are very exclusive in fanbase. If you aren't from Houston, you don't belong. DFW teams (at least Rangers and Cowboys) are more or less representative of the whole state. Being from San Antonio, the only team representing the city is the Spurs, so statewide seems the way to go.

TBH, I think it's really a result of the insecurity of the average Houston sports fan. I never really noticed it until living here, but it makes sense. They've been inferior to the other franchises in the state in every sport, plus their collapses seem to have been more epic and heartbreaking. I grew up an Oilers fan, so I get it. It sucks to be a Houston sports fan. The only titles they have are, rightly or wrongly, written off as being the result of Jordan playing baseball. So, I think you see that exclusivity as a result. As Aggies, we're all familiar with this phenomenon as well.

That said, they have a great team that is capable of winning a WS.
