Highly unlikely we get many runs on Severino. Hitters need to be patient and drive that pc up to get to that bullpen. Hopefully Cashner can just keep it close till then.

Banister strikes again. Cashner out for the 8th to only hit a guy, bringing out a struggling Claudio for the 9th. But this is what happens when you have essentially no good options out of the bullpen. If Claudio isn't great it's done

He should be rested though. Off on Thursday and didn't pitch Friday. I can't blame him for giving Claudio a shot.
Even with the bullpen giving it up late, how many games do you win with only one hit? Offense was putrid today.

I do give them credit for ACTUALLY trading and going for it with the verlander trade. That's gonna help them. But yes, this started out as their year and they've been skidding in the second half. We'll see how it goes.
Not to mention they're now tied for the best record and may not even have homefield after how they started

How the **** is Napoli still playing? .192 average as an every day player in mid-September? Is there anyone else with the same amount of AB's that has a worse average?
It's very baffling. We're pulling Griffin in the 4th with no outs, so Bannister realizes that these are crucial games.
But then we're batting Napoli 4th.

Here are the Top 6 worst BAs in the AL:
1. .193 - Napoli: 13th in HRs
2. .207 - Alex Gordon (KC)
3. .210 - Gallo: 3rd in HRs
4. .210 - Frazier (CHW/NYY)
5. .210 - Bautista (Tor)
6. .214 - Odor: 17th in HRs
And not even in the Top 20-25 in Runs or RBIs, as far as I can tell.
Welp... Not the nail in the coffin... But probably have to go 14-6 over our last 20 to have a chance at WC2... and I just don't see this rotation being able to keep the games close enough for a banged up offense to win.
