I'd just as soon in this series that, whether they think there's intent or not, they just take it and take their base. About the worst thing that could happen here would be to let something get out of hand.

There is definitely an issue between McHugh and Gomez though.

He's that guy that if he's on your team and playing well you like him. If he's not on your team or he's not playing well, you hate him. He seems to be the same guy regardless, but his weird crap is annoying if he's swinging so hard his helmet falls off. Not the same, but similar to Dutch. Those impressions were money when he was taking no-nos deep into a WS game. Not so much when he's giving up crooked numbers left and right.

He doesn't tone it down and the likelihood something gets out of hand increases exponentially. You're right, their issues have nothing to do with what's going on especially when the guys on the other side are already on edge. That doesn't mean it won't be turned into something much bigger given what is going on.
