Hasn't hit for power since slumping, but he did come out of his slump. He is actually batting .333 with .454 obp in last 5 games and is in a 5 game hitting streak.

This is why I don't understand how upset you get about our overall approach. The top of our order is hitting pretty damn good and seems like they're walking a bit more than years past (but not in that since I can't see the actual numbers).

It's simply been a case of not executing with RISP. That and the bottom of the order is just wretched.

It's more the approach of certain hitters. We have a lot of guys that can get away with taking massive hacks with 2 strikes and less than 2 outs and get away with it. Springer, Gomez, and Gattis aren't these guys. Castro -- it just doesn't matter.

Rasmus on the grand slam last night is a good example of approach. He sat fastball the entire time and whiffed on two curves. When he finally got a fastball he fkn jacked it.

Also, I can understand whiffing at a curve with two strikes, but half swings at balls 3 feet outside and in the dirt on an 0-0 count is ridiculous.

Really like seeing Marwin in there at 3B. Right now Valbuena is steaming garbage. Also like him batting there in the bottom of the order. Hopefully he can be a stop gap so that bottom 1/3 isnt a complete rally serial killer.

Think that's why Gomez is batting 6th. Kinda try and spread out the suckage.

Not overreacting to one game, but it's funny you say that about Valbuena after he went 2-2, with 2 doubles and 2 walks yesterday.

Past 5 does it really matter? They are all struggling.
