Odor was never closer to first base than Gomez until after Gattis ran, Gomez was fine and his job is to draw a cut if he can if there is a play at the plate, esp if he can get back to first anyway. Gattis was dumb.

They're all ******s. . Well except Colby. He was dealt a ****ty hand. Gattis and Gomez both screwed that up. I don't know why the **** Gomez was trying to even try to run or draw a throw on a shallow ass fly ball. Gattis needed to pull his head out of his ass

I like his aggressiveness, too. But be aggessive in the right situation. His job was to be on base for the bats behind him. His base hit, and the opportunity for his teammates, was rendered worthless.

I don't think Gomez did anything wrong, he tagged, then went out and grabbed as much real estate as he could based on the defense, ended with two guys going toward third, so he got in a rundown. Colby may have still scored if the Rangers had flubbed it at that point.

I don't agree that "avoid faking out Gattis" should be in his purview.
