5 games against us, 1.48 era..I would guess most of those starts were early in the season?

Just not enough clutch hitting, he tight roped his way out of some situations

Hope we don't end up kicking ourselves for getting one run against a washed up Jered Weaver who didn't touch 85.

That happy birthday snag from Giavotella saved the game for the Angels.

Tolleson gave up a run against 2 HoFers. I've seen worse pitching.

No complaints about going with Tolly, he's been great for us. He just doesn't have the swing and miss stuff of your typica closer.

So. Dyson and Tolleson have been used 4 days straight each.

Who do we use out of the pen in the later innings tomorrow? Do we try to ride one or both of them one more game if needed?

And what's the official word on Kela?

And we had 3 hits and it was tied. No idea why he used both again.

I was at the game so didn't get to hear TV/Radio commentary. I couldn't even see Kela in pen. The discussion in our area was hoping that Banny would try to get by in the 8th with Diekman or someone else and save Dyson for the 9th against the HR guys. This is how it's been working out lately and Dyson has been able to keep the ball in the infield against even the best hitters. I just wasn't feeling Tolle vs Trout/Pujols

The problem was that he used them in the 6-2 W on Wednesday against the Tigers.

RPs are rarely effective on the 3rd straight... let alone 4th straight game. Pitching last night and a day game today ensures they either won't be available today, or they won't be available for the playoffs, because their arm will be dead.

Last night was only bad because it was the 4th straight game. The situation dictated that you use your closer in the Top 9th in a tied game. Especially with clinching the division on the line, and a win allowing you to rest Hamels on Sunday.

IMO, today is a necessary win. Gotta have it.

Perez was fantastic, though.

Last night was a high stress game and he rose to the occasion. His last 2 games were spectacular.

Mike Basich on the post-game described Weaver as a pretty good pitcher with HS quality pitches and excellent location. Said he was about on the level of a pitcher from Jesuit or South Lake, but with much better location.

Nadel and Hicks were describing him as a good slow pitch softball pitcher facing a fast pitch team that has a hard time getting the timing and break figured out.

Colbra! No other pitcher I'd rather have on the mound for us today.
