Way too many errors by Odor

I'd take 5 errors by Odor to 1 error by Elvis.

I'd rather not have errors that could've otherwise ended the inning. Instead your pitcher is still out there, and is lucky it didn't produce any runs. With as stale as this offense has been, that had potential to be very bad

Odor is 21 -- you can tolerate that out of a guy playing 2 years ahead of schedule.

Would make a lot of sense geographically speaking but to totally realign current AL and NL teams to that degree you'd have to make the DH rule universal one way or the other in advance of the move.

That's good for 2016... For this year? I just hope it doesn't cause us not to move pieces at the deadline in the hope we have "reinforcements coming".


Chances are at best 1 of the 3 comes back and is above average down the stretch, which still leaves 2 big holes in our rotation and a bad offense.

Not going to be a contender in 2015 so hopefully we plan/trade accordingly.

This team is 6-8 and I'm not sure how they've managed to win 6.

Have a decent hitting pitcher at the plate with no outs and a runner on first, a wild pitcher, defense is playing the bunt all the way. What do we do? Bunt right into it.

No I shouldn't. I just think it's stupid to give free outs against a struggling, young pitcher.

Odor should've been trying to steal on the play. The whole plan was to move the runner into scoring position.

With the 1st and 3rd basemen cheating up on the play, Odor should've had the awareness to take off early. Do you run the risk of being throwing out on the steal attempt should Gallardo fail to make contact on the bunt? Sure, but that's a lot better than a double play being turned because you weren't stealing, which is what almost happened.

Sorry I sounded like a dick in my last reply. My point was there was obviously a reason for the play that was called. Just did not work out the way it should have.

Still don't agree with the call either way. Bradley had walked 5 of the last 6 or 7 batters. Why even attempt at giving them an out? Just my opinion.

I've already anticipated this season will be full of highs and lows giving false sense how they are both terrible and great.

Nick Martinez has had some real good success against some marginal teams. I've really liked what he has done so far with Texas. I have myself convinced Colby won't last another couple starts.

I agree, we'd be lucky to get 1 of the 3 to pitch at a #4 or #5 level to finish the season. If Colby stays healthy and Martinez continues to do well... we could be up to 4 SPs.

At that point, it is tempting to project help on the way... Wandy, Rodriguez, Jackson.

I'm just not convinced the O is that terrible. But they sure are struggling. Beltre (.158) must not be taking his PEDs. They covered his Option, so I guess he feels he doesn't need to prove anything. Choo (.135) ** ACK** Do you finally fire Magadan?

On that note, Gallardo gives up the long ball... 4Rs in 3.1IP.

Nick Martinez is what i'm most excited about watching. Stuff certainly isn't electric, but he seems like a very smart pitcher.

As for the offense... Is it THIS bad? No... But it's not good. Chirinos and Smolinski are AAA hitters at best.

Odor is still young so who really knows what he will be able to do consistently.

Beltre won't be this bad all year, but he's starting to look like a guy who isn't too far away from 10,000 at-bats.

We know what Martin is.

So really the only hope for this offense is Fielder starting to hit HRs, Andrus to start going opposite field with regularity and realizing he's a singles hitter, AND Choo not sucking.

I don't have much hope 2 of those 3 things will happen, much less all 3.



When you have to list about 10 things that need to go right for the team to compete, it's not going to be a competitive team.

Beltre is a head scratcher. When your clean up hitter only has one rbi through 14 games...that's a huge problem.

To be fair to gallardo, a few of those are unearned runs.

Lineup isn't good, rotation isn't good...

... but the team also is playing uninspired and empty-headed in the field.

Pretty bad to watch... This is team that is going to be done early in games like this when the other team takes a decent lead, and also a team that is going to wilt with a lead when things get tight (eg. Mariners the other day).

Remember the day we had an outstanding fielding outfield.... an outfield that was feared at the plate? Seems like so long ago.

Team just plays with a difference intensity.

You remember the Elvis Andrus that stole 2nd base and then scored from 2nd on an GROUNDOUT TO FIRST in the ALDS?

This team doesn't come close to putting that kind of pressure on teams.

Hard to remember "High Desert." Went from Bakersfield to Myrtle Beach to High Desert. I've
actually been up to that area before. Interesting place to say the
least.

Team Pitching at 5.87.

Just to set expectations for those unaware... like Bakersfield, it is a
place you don't send your best pitchers. Not sure what their ERA is
typically but 5.87 is probably in the neighborhood of what I would have
expected based on reports of the league, park and area.

I've gotta figure out whom I will follow this summer.
