Off the same guy Chirinos hit the walk off bomb against. Rough couple of nights.

Corporan kind of looks like Liucci if Liucci was in shape and Latino

Earlier in the game, on the Dodgers broadcast, Vin Scully said that Corporan has caught all 10 of Wandy's starts. Sounds like it's his personal catcher from their Houston days.

Corpy is the only catcher that caught Wandy in houston
At least when J.R. Towles was around, he caught Wandy just as much and actually had a lot more success. For example,

2011:

Corporan: 15 games, 90.1 IP, 3.99 ERA
Towles: 16 games, 100.1 IP, 3.04 ERA

quote:
Can't stand corpy but he has kept Wandy rolling for us so if that's all he does I'm fine with it
Biggest complaint is they need to figure out a way to throw less pitches.

This was the 6th time in 11 starts Wandy didn't make it 6 full innings.

Everything about Rosales's game I love. He's scrappy, always hustles and would do anything it seems for the team. I just can't get over how damn goofy looking he is.

If we beat Grienke tomorrow with Ranaudo and sweep the Dodgers I'll be pretty damn impressed. Still awesome to take at least 3/4 including beating Kershaw in LA

Still can't believe the wins we're getting with some of the lineups we throw out there, but damnit this team is fun to watch

And this is prolly sacrilege, but Vin Scully needs to be put out to pasture. The amount of stuff he got wrong last night (watching the Dodgers broadcast) was infuriating. Called Prince "Cecil" for 3 innings.

I enjoyed listening to Vin Scully last night, but you are right. He got alot wrong. At one point he was going to make a connection or joke about wine and Gallo (after Gallo's homer), but just stopped mid sentence and said something like "oh well, nevermind, forget that, moving on"..it was awkward.

Maybe it's a product of him being the only one in the booth (is it always like that?), but it seems like he just feels that he has to keep talking the entire time. He's obviously filled with stories and info about the players, but it just seems like he rambles.

And were you watching when they did the intro about the story about the guy from the Mets (?) -- they did a little intro and I thought kind of implied that rather than trying to tell the story in between pitches and batter counts and the like that they were going to do it separately... I initially thought they were going to just keep the game video up and tell the story during the inning instead of play-by-play/color, but instead it seemed like they did exactly what they implied they weren't going to do - Scully tried to tell the story in-between pitches, all the while still giving play-by-play on the game.

"Back in 1963 when the Mets were first strike on the inside corner well the Mets had started out terrible and there was a player on the team and another strike from Highland Park native Clayton Kershaw who has a lot of friends on this Rangers team and you have to understand the Mets were terrible that year and most of the fans Elvis Andrus with a sharp ground ball back up the middle and one-on for the Rangers..."

Praying we get the sweep tonight! we have to be one of the hottest teams in baseball and im not going to lie I enjoy watching the rangers even more now than I did under Wash because Bannister isn't in love with any particular line up he is actually making decisions how a manager should!

I grew up listening to Vin Scully as a kid, in the '70s. Is it any wonder I love baseball? The Dodgers of the '70s - Steve Garvey, Davey Lopes, Bill Russell, Ron Cey, Steve Yeager, Dusty Baker, Rick Monday... Don Sutton, Burt Hooton, Tommy John, Rick Rhoden...

I hate that I'm having to miss this series.

When they first came in Arlington, I bought like 10 tickets for each game.

The guy is 87 and doesn't surprise me if he makes mistakes and isn't as great as he was.

66 Seasons X 162 Games... 10,692 Games. That is just crazy, what he has seen. I know there were seasons only 154 games played and a shortened season, but you get the idea. At 154, that is 10,164 games.

I love what the Rangers are doing.

Before...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vin_Scully#Brooklyn_.281950.E2.80.9357.29

quote:
In 1950, Scully joined Barber and Cornelius (Connie) Desmond in the Brooklyn Dodgers radio and television booths. When Barber got into a salary dispute with World Series sponsor Gillette in 1953, Scully took Barber's spot for the 1953 World Series. At the age of 25, Scully became the youngest man to broadcast a World Series game (a record that stands to this day).

I've really enjoyed this "home and home" series with LA. I think it's a good model for interleauge play. Gives each fanbase the opportunity to see a team they normally wouldn't be able to.

I got into a groove a couple of years ago where I listened to Dodger games via the MLB app because I was doing a lot of running/going to the gym at night and the west coast games were on.

Scully was pretty great back then, and didn't seem to get caught up telling rambling stories.

A shame to hear he might be losing his touch, but I suppose it was bound to happen at some point.

A 4 game sweep would be awesome. For sure against a *****y west coast team like L.A

Gonna be a sales guy for a sec...

We pro-rated a ticket plans this morning. After today, the only plans that we have available are a full season, 29-game plan that starts on August 14th, and a 20-game fan's choice plan where you pick the games you want to attend.

We still have a lot of great premium inventory available if y'all are interested. Now is as good a time as ever.

Okay. Back to your regularly scheduled discussion.

Sorry, I can respect that he's a hall-of-fame broadcaster, but Scully just goes from story to story and has to stop 15 words into each story to call the play then takes up on the story where he left off... Damn near impossible to follow.
