maybe Feliz is "ready."

If I had to guess, I'd say Feliz may be ready to go back into surgery.

Another good win.

Sadly, I honestly don't think we'll ever see Feliz back in the majors again.

He hasn't pitched in something like 9 days. Rangers are/were throwing bums like Noesi out there -- if Feliz was anywhere close to competent he'd be on the big league squad no matter his attitude or motivation issues.

If I had to wager I'd say his arm has responded to TJ as well as he/they have hoped and his stuff simply isn't good enough.

I haven't heard anything about Feliz, except JD saying "He just isn't ready."

I see he hasn't pitched for about a week.

Great win tonight over the top contending team with the scrubs.

Noesi is a separate issue. He is a utility pitcher. Feliz wouldn't be brought in the same role as Noesi... a few innings here, whatever is needed.

The latest story on Feliz is he hasn't pitched on back to back days yet and until he does, effectively, he won't see the big club,

Could easily be a non factor this year.

Great win last night. Crazy to see these spare parts coming up big like this.

Profar's seat is getting hot...Wilson might be taking his spot as the future at 2nd base.

This has been the damnedest April I can ever remember watching...

- The team's top 4 starters all start the season on the DL
- 2 of the 9 position starters haven't even seen the field yet
- The teams biggest bat has missed half the month
- There have been 3(?) walk off wins with a handful more coming in 8th/9th
- The team's April MVP started the season in the minors

Add all that up and somehow you have a team that has the second best record in the AL and just got a series win against the team with the best record. I can't ever remember having seen anything like this to start a season before.

Regarding the squeeze in the 9th, an article on the Rangers website makes it sound as though the squeeze play wasn't on. Wash chalked it up to miscommunication, and Moreland admitted making a mistake by being too aggressive in that situation, considering he didn't break until after the bunt was down.

If your former all-star, stud bullpen arm is sent down to the minors to get his **** together and then doesn't pitch for over a week, then something is wrong.

Yeah, the inactivity on Feliz is a major warning sign. Something is up.

Our team is beginning to remind me of the A's. A lot of no-name guys that just get it done. I like it.

JD is savvier than we give him credit for... He knows the A's blueprint of winning the division with a bunch of nobodies works.

Then come playoff time, when the A's method falters with those nobodies, you bring back your big guns.

Replay sucks...

Eric and Matt seemed to think he was safe, but they weren't sure if Rios foot actually touched the plate before the tag. It might have been up in the air and not on the plate before the tag. Oh well.

What is the point of replay if they get it wrong ? You can't block the plate until you have the ball.
mhayden
How long do you want to ignore this user?
He was out at the plate -- the question is if that isn't "blocking the plate without the ball", what is?

And to further add to the frustration of that play...television broadcast just said that the replay booth did not even look for blocking the plate on that call.
mhayden
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Looking at the rules, from what I can tell the blocking of the plate is reviewed at the crew chief's discretion.

A's challenged the tag, so that is what the replay officials were looking at. If the crew chief did not call obstruction of the plate when it occurred, it wasn't going to then get called in replay as at that point the crew chief isn't making the call one way or the other (it's up the review crew in NY).

Which creates an issue because the home plate umpire above all else on a bang-bang play like that is looking to see if the runner is out or safe. If he deems him safe, he almost certainly is not going to ALSO call plate obstruction, as it's irrelevant.

I don't think it's that hard. When a guy slides into home and can't get to the plate because of the catchers leg, that's a block.

Twitter world is dancing around this with all this 'everyone is learning crap'. That was a textbook block. Inforce the damn rule.

This is a huge issue because it involves plays at home plate = runs = direct impact on wins and losses.
