Yeah, left handed bats could have a pretty good day.

I would not be surprised if Tanner outpitches Cliff today.

$100 that they have a trash can next to the statute tonight. I think that security was yelling "no open containers, finish them or throw them out" people were too lazy to find a trash can and throw it out.

75% of those probably had no idea what that statute was and they were there only to be seen.

Yesterday the bottles / cans / trash were especially bad. We got to the game at 11:00 and the tailgaters were in full force and parking lots mostly full. The stadium needs to set up some type of small area around that statue so that others wont do the same thing.
It looked bad.

so you mean people were there for the party and to be seen and not to watch the actual game?

Or they could just take the stupid statue down.

Don't care for the statue. Also don't see why it's that big of a deal. People left their trash, people are dumb and lazy and generally sloppy. This isn't news.

There's a bottleneck there to enter the stadium, and the trash cans that are available are situated right near where you enter, and typically full by gametime for Opening Day.

Doesn't excuse the littering, but if everyone with an open container all went to throw it away in the trash cans it would block the entire entrance.

I walked right by this statue on my way into the game. I didn't notice the trash accumulation but I went in about an hour before the game and I don't know when the picture was taken.

That being said, I had a drink with me when I walked in and needed to find a trash can, there was not one anyone near the line. I knew that if I carried it in, they would ask me to throw it away, at that point I found a trash can just inside the gate which I had to reach through to get it in the trash can.

I'm not defending the folks that did this, but the Rangers have got to be more realistic in providing a place to throw away things that can't be taken into the game. Otherwise, they are going to end up with a bunch of junk either on the statue or littering the ground outside the stadium.

Unrelated: A 25% markup on a barbecue sandwich over last year is ridiculous.
