Don't know how I feel about this. I love Prince but I've always enjoyed Kinsler at 2nd. I really hope Profar works out. Too bad we can't get rid of Elvis and move Kins to short. I know many may not agree but that is my opinion as a Rangers fan.

I realize that Elvis is a much better defensive player than Kinsler but his bat was atrocious this past season. After looking online a minute ago, I didn't realize that Prince was 2 years younger than Kinsler

Looper, Elvis had a bad start but hit 313 from June til the end if the season with a 370 obp . He is the heart and soul of this team and that can't be replaced.
Really like Kinsler ... but as a Rangers fan, I LOVE this deal.

As much as I love Kinsler. I love this deal. Upgrade.
Also love a LH bat with power in TBIA. The RF porch will get punished regularly again. I think he can be a steady .290/40 hr/120 rbi guy in this park. Not to mention, no DL stays - ever. Could usually count on Kins to miss 20-30 games.

The Lopper. Elvis got off to a very slow start last year, but hit over .300 through most of the second half. Finished at .271. Hardly atrocious. Kinsler hit .277 and is like eight years older.
If it is a straight up deal,I love it, if we also tossed in a few prospects, I hold judgement.

Checking their respective durability track records indicates this assumption has a good chance of being false. Count on Kinsler missing a month most years, and this year he missed a month and then wasn't the same after. Came back in June and had almost no power post-injury for the rest of the year.

Every year, people say Fielder's too fat to last. He's now played in 521 of his team's last 521 games, and 844 of his team's last 845 games. (post-season and regular season)
Edit- Pushing that into the 2008 season, when he missed 3 games, he has played in 877 of his team's last 878 games.

Holy cats! This trade looks so lopsided in favor of the Rangers. The only thing I can think of was a public displeasure over Fielder's lack of post season production.
Detroit has a bunch of young studs that are nearing that time in their career when they begin to get paid the big bucks.
I also wouldn't disagree with them if they think the combined market for DH/1B/3B (Cabrera could move?) is more promising than the 2nd base market is now and will be in the near future.
