He'll need 927 Hs and 318 HRs.
That means in 10 years he has to average over 92 Hits/season and almost 32HRs.
This will really come down to how many years he has left. As mentioned, every single hitting number he has dropped each of the last 3 years, and there is no reason to think he'll reverse the trend significantly. If he gets 173 Hits (avg per season), it will take over 5 years.
His average of 42 might suggest it. I don't believe it to be possible.
I think we can take that $10M off the contract and assume he won't reach either.
ARod:
32 - 138Gms/154H/35HR/.302
33 - 124Gms/127H/30HR/.286
34 - 137Gms/141H/30HR/.270
35 - 99Gms /103H/16HR/.276
I still can't believe at 31, he was able to get a 10 yr deal.
