My friend who has ESPN Insider told me that the Rangers offered Fielder 8 years - $192 million. Have any of you guys seen that? I think he might have been bull *****ing me.

I don't see anything on twitter or mlbtraderumors. Todd Kaufman said no to someone on twitter a few min ago

But some guy "piodeportes" says its close.

His twitter says he's a well connected blogger, so he's gotta be legit, right?

Though through my vigorous Internet research after midnight, in bed, on my phone, that pio guy first broke big Alberts deal and apparently beltres last year.

Cranny do you have a link to that source??? I hope it's right and I could give two ****s about what DallasAg94 thinks about it. Fielder is a damn good player and will be for much longer than TWO effin years.

Looks like I'm well established for my position, when it is realized... the failed future that is Fielder.

And I never considered his best teammate from 2011 would disclose testing positive for PEDs... err... "a banned substance, but definitely not PEDs... and definitely not 'knowingly'... promise."

Let's just hope Braun and Fielder weren't on the same meal supplement plan, less Fielder "unknowingly" was taking something.

I would take prince fielder for four years in a second if I'm the rangers, but anything over that would be a mistake.

either way can't stand pat... to do so would be like folding king queen suited pre flop in heads up poker

Four years? Really? Are you related to DallasAg94?

I don't think it's in the best interest of a team to give out 8-10 year contracts of guaranteed money.

I heard Tom Verducci on the Dan Patrick radio show last week, say maybe the rangers could get him to sigh a four year deal since he is 27 he could have another huge payday after that deal.

I'm an astro fan so I would like the rangers or your cubs give him a dumb/long contract, but if it were the astros and he wanted more than 4 years I would rather not have him.

If he helps us win a title within the next 3 years I'd be happy to have him for eight. The more frustrating thing will being see this championship window close in 4 or 5 years and not winning a title. And if youre the Astros you need to build within and make good trades (hopefully they got good talent for Pence, Oswalt, Bourn, Fat Elvis but I dunno). I don't think what the Marlins are doing is very smart but I guess that's sort of how they won in 1997 and 2003?

There's a big gap between 4 and 8.
