Whoop! Love this team so far, got some grit in them.

Cubs starting a 3 game series against the Rangers who have a losing record. This should be an easy sweep but complacency may mess things up.

The Cubs are the first team to have two 9-game winning streaks in a single season since the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers.

And it's only the first week of May.

Wow, that seems really hard to fathom that its been since 1955. Just one of the reasons Baseball is so awesome and continues to amaze. You have a chance to see something new everytime you watch.

I was at the game last night. I grew up in Atlanta and have been going to Braves games for 40 years. That was probably my favorite game of all time. Honoring Bobby Cox and Ted Turner since it was their first home game since they both died.

Total domination of that Yankee team and crappy city. F Chicago!

I always thought Flames was an odd name for a professional sports team in Atlanta given Sherman' March and all.

LOL. Yeah, I miss hockey. When they had the Thrashers, a good friend of mine was the Zamboni driver. Tons of Yankees in ATL, not sure why hockey they can't support an NHL team.

You had easily arguably the Greatest Pitching staff EVER in MLB History during the 1990's.
Smoltz, Maddux, Glavine, & Co. made 5 World Series appearances in the 90's and only managed to win 1.

It's tough being an Aggie and an Atlanta sports fan.

When they won the WS, I was a law student at UGA. That was a fun night in downtown Athens.

When at A&M, I quickly adopted the Oilers and Warren Moon as my favorite NFL team. Neon Deon was fun to root for, though.

Get outta here with that. The Braves won an MLB most 14 division titles in a row from 1991-2005. They were a dynasty IMO. In addition, they have 2 world series titles in the last 30 years which is not awful.

I had excluded the Braves earlier.

Falcons, Hawks - awful. I was in Midtown Atlanta for the Patriots - Falcons superbowl. I took a shower, got dressed, and couldn't wait to go out following our Super Bowl win. Then we crapped the bed and lost.

Atlanta United Soccer has been pretty good though.

Though I came here to joke, I like the Cubs and rooted for them to win it all. (Like everyone). Can't stand the Dodgers, Yankees, Philly, or Red Socks.

Edit: Actually the year before. They would just go stone-cold at the plate out of nowhere, especially in the 2nd half. It's time for Breg, PCA and Busch to get back to form.
