maybe rudy and RYAN get him going...light a fire under his butt and make him realize he could ressurect his career in A-town..

The only thing that will get him going again is tested for now...

Andruw was a product of the era, folks...

I don't really care about this signing all that much, but it does not matter how good he does in the first half of the season; we will not be able to flip him for much. I can guarantee that the rangers will be lucky to get a low to mid level pitching prospect. Unless the economy turns around big time in the next 6 months nobody will be giving up cheap young players under team control for the next several years.

That's the truth. This has the potential to be one of the oddest trade deadlines in a long time.

Offseason is a bit different than the trade deadline. When certain owners/GM's start tasting the postseason, what they will give up to make a run changes drastically.

I agree, but the point is that everybody is going to have to take a hard look at their upcoming budgets at the trade deadline. Teams will have to think about getting rid of bigtime prospects who are locked in at very low salaries.

I think we might see more salary for salary deals at the deadline this year as opposed to big salaries traded for prospects.

I completely disagree with this.

If he plays well, the Yankees and the Red Sox will overpay for him, if for no other reason but to keep him away from the other

They might have more cash to burn on free agents during the off season, but they are not going to give up a high prospect for a rental player.

And to be honest, I don't expect A Jones to make much of a comeback. He might hit .240 (career avg is .259) with 10-15 homeruns by the break, but nobody is going to trade for that. Plus he strikes out on avg 130 times per year. I think he is done.

He's incredibly streaky. I doubt anybody will give anything for him, but if he does find his swing he will carry the Rangers for a couple of weeks.

That alone is probably worth what they're paying him.

At 25 million per year for Arod, he would have to hit 50 homeruns for an average cost of $500K per homer.

Jones will need to hit 1.
