Why pay 5 dollars for something today that I can possibly get for 2 dollars tomorrow...?
I mean, if i'm Hicks, i'm in no hurry to sign a vet pitcher who probably plays 4 out of the 6 months of the season. I'd look at the minor league rankingss, then my current roster, and conclude that we are still a year or two away from fielding a consistently competitive team. So with that, if Sheets can be had at a bargain, so be it, but it's not such a priority that they need to money whip him now.
Again, that's what I think Hicks thoughts are...I would have signed Sheets two weeks ago...lol.
