the sox home record is 36-11 for a reason. The yanks won't win more than 1 game this weekend

Go Sox!
go royals too (beat the annoying rays)

Damn! No cell phone, no computer, no TV while camping. I totally lost track of the days. No Sox on the radio while they were on the west coast either. Totally out of the loop!

the royals help out the cause tonight. Tampa just 19-26 on the road.

Chamberlain goes tonight against Beckett. If the Yankees can win tonight, they will win the series. This is a tough matchup that will give a lot of insight into the Chamberlain experiment; if he can hold his own against Beckett in Fenway, then Yankees fans will feel much better about the future and potential ace.

Rumors swell here in the Hudson Valley about Barry Bonds. I know the Yankees need a bat for Matsui and Posada, but please, for the love of God Steinbrenner...not Bonds. Not an aging, rusty, conceited, entourage having, lying, steroid abuser. I don't think Girardi would stand for much of his shenanigans, but then again, could Stein conceive of a re-make of the Martin-Jackson saga? On a side note (and hopefully related) Matsui has decided to forego surgery and is entering rehab - trying to get back for the September run.

The Yankees are also in the market for a catcher - trying to get Paul Lo Duca from Washington type move. Also, the Freddy Garcia/Jarrod Washburn names keep popping up in the local blogs, but we shall see.

Ian Kennedy pitched a one hitter for Scranton last night. I know Yankees hates him, but he can either be trade bait, or, conceivably, a 4-5 starter again? Depends on what moves Little Stein decides on.

Well I am heading back to the beach (with apologies to Frankie and Annette fans). I'll have to listen to the game on the radio. In truth, I am looking forward to it as it will remind me of my youthful days when I would just have a radio, a campfire, smores and the Red Sox. Now I'll have the radio, campfire, smores, wife, daughter, beer and the Sox.

Cap -- Steinbrenner and Bonds is a match made in hell.

I, of course, would love to see it (due to the turmoil it would create) and be fearful of it (if it somehow worked out).

Sox are back in 1st place thanks to the Rays recent woes. I think that the coach is about to turn back into a pumpkin for them. Let's hope they don't find a glass slipper. I'd rather see them in the playoffs over the Yanks though.

This is so pathetic! Beckett is pitching a hell of a game and the sox can't put 2 runs up on a rookie (granted a rookie with good stuff but still).

They are giving away at bats left and right, not being patient, and making a guy that is notorious for having high pitch counts not work at all.

come on sox, pull your heads out of your a$$es!
Captain Insano

Chamberlain has a look that he is in a zone. His slider is more effective in the 7th than it was in the 2nd. The 7th was impressive - he hit the 100 pitch mark and still going strong.

Helluva game so far. I'm having to balance it with work right now - I'd rather be drinking some beer and enjoying this gem.

YES! 7 in a row! Rivera with the save - that was a great pitchers duel.

Chamberlain goes 7 strong, 3 hit ball.

Beating Beckett on Friday night in Fenway Park was CRUCIAL!

sox got hosed, no way was that a strike on Lowell in the 9th

Keith, Yankees has always done that. I don't get it either. Let's hope he doesn't have a beard, though... You know how the Boss hates that.

It's okay, Yank, I understand...

...The beard thing, that is. I was pretty much out of college before I really had to start thinking about shaving.

The "we" thing is still a little odd, but I'm willing to consider chalking that up to youthful exuberance.

I basically got over that sort of thing when I graduated from UWF, decided that graduate school wasn't a real option, and realized that A&M just wasn't in the cards for me. I can't, in good conscience, say "we" when referring to the Aggies; and since there's no group that I'd rather be in more, I'm not going to include myself in *any* group in which I'm not a part of.

Hi, this is your Captain speaking. To of all our Sox fans, I'd like to ask how your brief layover in first place was, and welcome you back on your flight to the wild card spot.

Just a warning though, there looks to be some turbulence coming out of the New York City area, so buckle up your dreadlocks, return your traveling secretaries to the upright position, and hold on.
Captain Insano

Going for the series win this afternoon. I actually get to come home from work at about noon today. Which means I might have a beer or two with this one, unless the wife talks me into going to Sat. night mass. (She has to work tomorrow and going to mass together is something that is important to us)...

I thought the yanks were going to lose at fenway?
By the end of the season the Dead sox won't even make the wild card.
Yanks win the division
Captain Insano
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Theeeeeeeeeee YANKEES win!

The Yankees win the series in Boston. Love the fireworks. Ponson goes for #5 in a Yankee uniform tomorrow night against Lester.

Lets Go Royals! Knock off those Rays and the Yankees are within 2 games!!!

Incredible move picking up Nady and Marte, but McCarver (the Amazin Mess's former play by play man) drooling over it was killing me.

Things are getting very interesting heading into August. Still waiting on the Yankees to pull a deal for Washburn.

Let's not get too hasty my friend. Ponson sometimes relies on the fly ball out, and the sox will bring everything plus the kitchen sink at us tomorrow to make this interesting.

this team is on fire...

another pathetic effort by the sox today. This just proves that you have to actually show up and play, even if you are the better team.

gotta salvage game 3 tomorrow

Kansas city helps out the cause by splitting their 4-game set with the Rays. Tampa in Toronto next.

I have been to 8 games at fenway so far this season and the Sox have won all 8! Fun game once the rain cleared out. It was a bit chilly though...felt kind of like a fall game.
Royal Rooter
How long do you want to ignore this user?
the good guys finally put together a complete game and salvaged game 3

hopefully they can carry this over and go on a run for a while
