Yea I was there and it was pretty awesome. It was pouring down rain and out they came in those duckboats (is that what they called them?) and the place went nuts. After they came out i ducked under the bleachers to stay somewhat dry (had a 4 hour drive back to NY with no change of clothes, didn't want to be soaked) but as luck has it they exited right where I was standing. Was about 10 ft. from them when they were leaving, pretty awesome.

Split the series with the Mess in the final subway game at that rathole in Flushing. Lost 3-1. Didn't see the game - had to put new air conditioners in the house and get ready for R-day tomorrow (the day the freshman cadets show up to West Point)

Should be a fun week this week on this board with the Rangers coming to town. If the Yanks win the series I fully expect to hear that the Cowboys took 2 of 3 from the Giants this year and that the Super Bowl was a fluke. God, I love Dallas. (Sarcasm)

Saw 4 innings of the 2-1 loss to the Rangers last night. Distressing, to say the least. Muss did not pitch badly. Yankee offensive woes were painful to watch, although the highlight of the evening was Giambi, stache and all, getting his first triple since 2002.

The Sox are leaving men on base like they are getting paid to do it.

We lose a series to the Rangers as Rivera, who has a 0.00 ERA in save opportunities, approaches an ERA of 5 in non-save opportunities. And I have been behind Girardi all year but not bunting Cabrera, who is 0-19, on a 1-0 count with a man on first and down by a run, was a terrible move. Earl Weaver baseball with a slumping guy at the plate. Come on.

I'm getting ready for the weekend with the Sux coming to town. I'll be at work for most of it, but hopefully I can catch an inning or two. I hate Boston.

bad bad loss tonight to the rangers. mo never gives up runs, and it was embarrassing to see that.

all of us here either are from the area or live in the area. its not like the people of dallas or houston who just realize they now have a team and randomly show up. As an astros season ticket holder since 2001, i can tell you that there was no one there before 04 going to all the games like we did, then they have that crazy turnaround and suddenly people remember that there is a team in houston again... That doesnt exist where we are from. stop hating

Why? Beacuse I read New York newspapers, watch New York television, go to New York sporting events. I don't live in New Jersey, so you will not see me pulling for the Nets or Devils. I do not live on Long Island, so you will not see me pulling for the Mets or the Islanders. Yes, it is local.

Yeah, that's always the case with metroplex fans. Just because north eastern fans are loud an obnoxious does not mean they know deek about sports. You people are the drudge of the sports world. WOW! Last night's game was one of the worst games I've seen in a long time. The Sox are definately in need of a shake up. I would consider benching Varitek until he figures out how to swing the bat again. He missed a crucial hit and run last night in the 9th and is like 0-17.

The first two games they were outplayed. Last night's game they just plain gave up.

Without arrogance, we've seen this before and have come through it and we'll see it again in the future and will hopefully make it through but it is tough to witness when you have a week straight of division rivals (Rays then Yanks).

And to all the folks who hate teams because of bandwagon fans, I would suggest to just learn to live with it. Bandwagon fans have always existed and always will. How many Packer shirts did you see prior to Brett Favre? How many Bulls shirts prior to MJ? Some people feel the need to follow a team that is winning. It is just that simple.

Red Sox Nation was an article written in October 1986 during the 1986 WS vs the Mets and who were Sox fans and who weren't based on where they lived in CT.

It was later used to express those long suffering fans who were loyal as hell but used to disappointment after years of being disappointed.

The club started when John Henry bought the team and NESN. I think it is cheesy but it does get you a ticket to a Monster seat.
