Pablo launched another Kawhi/Ballmer/Aspiration podcast on June 5th.

Some points, for those following: Aspiration co-founder Joe Sandberg was sentenced in federal court to 14 years in prison for running a massive five-year scheme that defrauded investors of $248 million. The judge described the fraud as being at the "zenith" the absolute worst circumstances he had encountered in his 40 years on the bench. Several meaningful victim statements were shown.

The biggest NBA item of the episode revolves around a newly uncovered, hidden arrangement between Sandberg and Steve Ballmer. In a victim impact letter submitted to the court, Ballmer's legal team revealed that when Ballmer initially invested $50 million into Aspiration in September 2021, Sandberg personally guaranteed the investment by granting Ballmer a "put-right" option. A put-right option essentially gave Ballmer a financial safety net floor, allowing him to force Sandberg to buy back the shares and return his cash if things went south which is a problem because this side deal was hidden from the public and from subsequent investors, as Ballmer was heavily used in press releases and public marketing to lure in other investors who believed he was taking the same risks they were.

Nothing much new on Adam Silver and NBA's investigation, except Silver's statement that he wants it wrapped up.
