Pop post game probably: ' I liked that we didn't give up.'
Rinse, repeat.

Bill Land still can't stay Wembanyama after 13 games.

This team sucks.

Wemby:

2 turnovers

And one of those TOs was in garbage time. His field goal percentage is still horrendous though.

They need to start running some sets to get Wemby solid looks. This team can't just lose every game playing pickup ball.

Nah. Pop is in his 'let's see what we have phase.' This is essential to the process.

It's also hard to run sets without a point guard.

We look stupid every third quarter. Not sure what the coaches are doing at half but it sure isn't adjusting.

Hey, what part of pounding the rock did you not understand last night while Fox was roasting Sochan for 41?

That's when they open the wine and pour it into the decanter and swirl it a bit so it will be ready for post-game.

As many as we need to lose to get Nikola Topic.

So far this year;

Lonnie has proved me wrong. I didn't think he'd make it long term in the Nba but he's been thriving in the 6th man role at Brooklyn.

Jesus, trade everyone but Wemby and Cedi.

Losing is the point of this season…

Yeah I get that but it looks like they're not even playing the same sport as the other team.

They're not even competitive. They can't score or defend. Theyre getting vaporized night after night after night, and the normalization of losing is going to have lasting effects unless you literally do trade everyone but Wemby.

The complete lack of talent would be palatable if they showed literally any effort or competitiveness. But they don't.

I don't know if I'm especially salty tonight because I would pay money to see kawhi Leonard and James harden fed into a wood chipper on live tv and they just come in and take our lunch money every time.

Man I don't know. Tanking another year, then getting a high draft pick for another rebuilding year, then maybe fighting for a play-in spot in 2025-2026. It's gonna be rough.

So you want wins but your solution is to trade everyone? That makes zero sense. The only path to winning is to let these young guys take their lumps and get experience. They look bad not because of lack of talent or lack of effort. They just don't know how to play. Everything is warp speed and confusing. It's especially obvious when they play a team with a bunch of vets.

Who on this team, besides Wemby and maybe Sochan, do you think is going to develop into an all-star?

Tre, Zach and Keldon are who they are. They're role players.

Devin could be that guy but he can't stay on the court. You're topping out at like 9th in the west if you have Wemby and a bunch of JAGs.

I think Sochan and Vassell have real potential. I also think Keldon is a significant contributor on a winning team. Regardless of what I think, trading everyone makes no sense. What are you trading for? And if you believe all these guys are jags then I'm guessing you'd assume they have no trade value.

Devin's per 36 this year:

21.6p
4.4r
3.5a
1.2s
50/43/73 shooting

He can definitely be a #2 option on a playoff contending team.

You're being REALLY dramatic and impatient. They've played 11 games together and you're freaking out. Chill dude. Teams like San Antonio, OKC, Denver, etc have to rebuild this way. We have Wemby, it's going to be fine.

Have you paid attention to the draft capital at all? The way forward is to see which guys are nba guys and which are 2 way / no way and use the capital to trade for an existing known talent in a few years. Such a now society we live in.

The way forward is unclear?

Victor Wembanyama is 19yo.
Devin Vassel is 23yo.
Keldon Johnson is 24yo.
Jeremy Sochan is 20yo.
Maliki Branham is 20yo.
Tre Jones is 23yo.
Charles Bassey is 23yo.
Blake Wesley is 20yo.

If the draft happened right now, and all lottery picks stayed in their current spot..

Spurs #3 overall pick
Spurs #11 overall pick
Spurs #33 overall pick
Spurs #48 overall pick

In 2025:
Atlanta 1st round pick (they are currently at .500 this year)
Charlotte 1st round pick
Chicago 1st round pick (if above 10)
Spurs 1st round pick
Spurs 2nd round pick
Pelicans 2nd round pick
Bulls 2nd round pick

I forget that Victor is only 19. I think yesterday was his worst game by far. He really struggled to make reads and decisions on both sides. As skilled as he is, it's going to take him a long time to figure it out.

Also, I wonder if his hands are too big to become a consistent shooter.

He's going to struggle against teams like the Clippers. They have big, strong experienced guys to push him around.

For sure. But it was beyond physicality to me. Obviously the Clippers defense was 100% focused on stopping Victor but just some of his decisions on offense, like missing wide open lanes to drive and settling for fading jumpers over guards, and on defense like biting on pump fakes and sinking in when he shouldn't. Those kinds of things that he will get better at over time.
