This is going to be such a fun season. These last two games have had so many "WTF did I just see" moments. I'm not sure how many more wins we have over last year but it's gonna be a hell of a lot of fun.

The Spurs really struggled with 3 point defense in the first half. We were dead last in opponent 3 point percentage last year. With Wemby, we should be chasing everyone off that damn line.

His mechanics seem elite.

The other that that is so impressive here is he finishes at the rim with both hands. He is dunking and blocking with both his left and right hand. That ridiculous scoop shot in game 1 was left handed.

I am sure there will be an adjustment period where some of the league's elite defenders will find a way to counter him, but seeing his variety of moves, I have no doubt he will adjust and overcome.

There are only a couple guys like Giannis that are big and quick enough to guard on the perimeter. Usually you would put a big like Gobert on him, but Gobert would die outside the paint of a fatal ankle injury, which is why teams target him in the playoffs. Then guys like Draymond give up nearly a foot to him.

Plus, there is a non-zero chance that Giannis and Wemby are teammates in Wemby's 3rd season. Giannis refuses the extension for a reason and Milwaukee will have 38yo Brook Lopez, 34yo Khris Middleton, and 35yo Dame Lilliard. Not sure that will be enough to keep Giannis around for another 5 years.

Victor after two games is already exceeding my expectations. Pop said yesterday that he only called one play for Victor (which was properly executed). The rest was all him. That's absurd.

The way they are talking, I think the plan will be to have Jeremy play 'point'. I think it's going to be a big starting lineup with the top 5 guys. Then more than likely stagger around 6 minute mark. I love Tre but he's not a starting pg.

I think Jeremy can run the point in a transition game, but not as much in the half-court offense.

But I think that Wemby, Vassell, and Sochan can do a good enough job in half court to work out for our needs.

Then next year we have either Buzelis, Collier, Proctor, or Nikola Topic (Pop loves his Serbs) at PG.

You are right. Tre is a solid backup, but nothing else. If he could develop into a 38-42% shooter, that would help a ton, but he will still get bullied on defense.

Because of Wemby's versatility on both ends of the floor, Pop can put pretty much any combination of guys around him. Being able to play successfully on the perimeter means he can be paired with multiple bigs (Collins, Sochan, Bassey, Mamu, etc.) because he can provide the spacing for those guys to work the paint. Wemby can also be used as the only big on the floor surrounded by smaller guards. Obviously we haven't seen that yet, but I'm sure we will at some point.

He is so unique that we could go in so many ways as we build up the roster back into being a contender. We're not stuck with needing a specific type of player to compliment him. Going forward we need to upgrade our talent at certain spots, but it's not like we have to pair him with an elite PG or a rim protector/lob threat. Just keep adding versatile defenders, rebounders, and floor spacers on offense.

Is League Pass worth it? Don't have TV/Cable. In Houston area, so I think Spurs/Rockets games will be blacked out. Maybe get the base Hulu package for TNT/ABC games.

I have it in the PNW. The only games I don't get are tnt and espn games and games in Portland. For $150 just to watch the majority of Spurs games it's worth it. Mega bonus for everything else. I'd double check on the blackout to make sure spurs games wouldn't be blacked out.

Also keep in mind tnt games are free via HBO max through the end of February too.

Maybe it's the nba app for the roku that sucks but other than connection issues I have with it, it's worth it. In my area I think I get Memphis and Atlanta games blacked out but only if they're technically available on my regular cable subscription via Bally South or Bally Southeast. I've found that the channel guide for my area sucks, so it may say there's a Hawks game on one and a Nashville Predators game on the other on the channel guide and yet they're both playing some fishing tournament or some mess.

I'd never suggest it on a fine upstanding forum such as Texags. But I've wondered how hard it would be to set some sort of thing up like twitch or discord etc in case I was doing something on my laptop that my friends could watch me do.

Like watch a Spurs game on league pass.

I think this will eventually be the move because our bench is very bad. That first unit looked pretty damn good though.
