Doesn't this team just turn your stomach? Lively is watchable. Luka is too when he's involving his teammates. We had 2 guys get a total of 4 offensive rebounds last night. THJ with a -30 last night.

3rd game in 4 nights without Kyrie in a game where Naz Reid hit as many 3s as the entire Mavs team. This was an outlier loss that means next to nothing.

It's not as bad as watching A&M basketball, but there is clearly stuff missing. You don't have to get me off the THJ train. I've been off since before the start of last season. Notice how we went on that run in 2021 after THJ got injured (only slightly joking).

Hopefully the extended time off for Kyrie also helps with the foot thing that has been bothering, even though some are saying it's possible he deals with that all year. But the team has not been a train wreck without him. Green not taking a step forward (and actually regressing) has hurt. Exum has stepped up and been a solid addition.

Dex went for 18/5/4 in 17 minutes of mop-up time last night. 8/11 from the field. No such thing as meaningless minutes for him, and more importantly, much like Q, he may have a really good future as an on-ball guard.

Yeah, I mean what is Josh green doing that Dex can't? As long as Dex is above 35% from 3, he brings way more than what we have seen from Josh this year.

I'm ready to see dex in the big leagues with real minutes…I may be biased though

Yeah this was the one redeeming part of going to that crotch punch of a game in Houston. Last off the bench but he made the most of it. Had a vicious slam too.

Terrible loss. We need Kyrie back. Cleveland was able to double team Luka effectively.

I think the Mavs best lineup will end up being Kyrie, Exum, Luka, DJJ, Lively. The Mavs haven't really played that lineup due to injuries but that should give the best mix of long armed defenders with an elite offense. The clear weakness will be rebounding as that lineup would get pushed around pretty easily.

It is still ridiculous that the Mavs probable best lineup includes 2 veteran minimum guys picked up off the trash heap and a 19 year old rookie who averaged 5 points per game in college. I applaud Nico for the vision with Exum and DJJ, but it just illustrates how ****ty the team building has been over the last 5 years. It also illustrates how big of disappointments that J. Green and G. Williams have been. It all could have been avoided though if they simply offered Brunson the max and re-signed him. Luka is good enough to win a title today, it just still isn't clear how they get there with this group and their current assets.

I think a 3 team trade with Mavs, Raptors, and Bulls is in the works.
