Retired. Pistol Pete.

Too young to have seen him at LSU or the NBA but grew up watching "The Pistol" on vhs. One of the all time greats for sure.

He retired about the time I started watching the NBA...he was playing for the then New Orleans Jazz at the time. I didn't get to see him at his best, and died much too young.

NBA games used to show games of Horse during halftime that featured star against star. Pete was a natural for that, as he had pretty much every shot in the book.

He was a natural choice for the jazz.

I had no idea about the horse games, that sounds nuts!

Yeah, he started with the Hawks, finished up with the Celtics. Actually played for a very brief time with Larry Bird during Bird's rookie season.

NBA has come a long way since Horse at halftime and tape-delay Finals games.

Between the pistol and Shaq, wow. LSU has really fallen. That program is in shambles.
