Look, I don't have much confidence in my own team either, but there's no way we barely sneak in as a 8 seed.

Trai Blazers MIGHT sneak in as an 8 seed, but no way they finish 5th. I mean what do they really have besides Damien Lillard? I just don't think that McCollum and have the same year he had last year because teams are going to pay more attention to him this year.

And we're just gonna have to agree to disagree about the Jazz I guess. I just don't think they're very good in comparison to the rest of the West.

The Rockets are just not a good team. They barely snuck into 8th place last year. The roster changes and coach change doesn't give me any reason to believe they will improve that much. You might be able to talk me into them finishing 6th or 7th but honestly 6-8 could be any number of team combinations.

Portland will compete. They spent money in the offseason and their backcourt is outstanding.

Think what you want about the Jazz but their roster is fantastic and they are coached incredibly well.

You're missing on two things with the Rockets. Based on what I've seen and have heard within the organization, team chemistry is higher now than the last three years combined. The ball movement has been unbelievable this preseason and there are legitimate shooters Harden can get the ball too. The defense is still a question mark but a lot of us have seen this preseason forward steps being taken considering how up tempo we are going to play. Also, the Jazz roster is by no means fantastic. There are some solid parts but no star and I don't trust a team with no legitimate point guard. Hill is an upgrade but still not good.

Side note: I had the opportunity to go to team shootaround a couple of weeks ago and can tell everyone here Ryan Anderson is the best shooter this franchise has seen in a long time. Guy can hit from anywhere and is the perfect stretch PF.

While Thunder are one injury away from being screwed, I do think they are deeper than Memphis. Memphis' bench is terrible.

I'm a big Ryan Anderson fan but personally don't care what he does during shoot arounds. I know he can put the ball in the basket but so can everyone else during practice. Let's see him make some shots when the games count.

Maybe he just looks good because we are used to Cory Brewer shooting the rockets threes

A few other sources are saying he will sign for 1-year 4.4 million to stay in Houston, so who knows at this point.

No kidding. What I am saying is he's a 38% three point shooter for his career and is shooting 47% during the preseason thanks to the offense he's now in. If he stays healthy, he and others will flourish in this offense.

Yeah. Not sure which site you are using but I'm seeing 43.6% this preseason on NBA.com. Still an improvement.

What's up with DMO? He still hasn't signed a contract and it appears he may have an unrealistic view of his own value. He might think that he is going to get a huge payday from someone in the NBA, but I can't see how that will happen. Nobody really wants him. He has talent, but he is too injury prone for a large contract.
He basically has two options as far as I can tell: 1) Play in europe 2) play for the Rockets for a 3-4 million dollar contract.

I really think his best option is to play for the Rockets, put up nice numbers for an offense friendly coach, have an injury free year, and then move on for the big ticket he is looking for. Unfortunately, I dont see how he could have an injury free year...
