The length of the contracts is a bigger than that just the $ IMO. Some teams might be scrambling to hit the salary floor as it is. It's the fact that the Knicks and Lakers are going to end up signing these guys to four year deals when I wouldn't have given them more than two years that is most problematic.

Hassan Whiteside's deal, if actually a max deal, leaves Miami with < $20M of room left. That means DWade is taking a pay cut if he's coming back, and that they've given up on KD (which I think is probably smart).

According to the Sun, they are still going after Durant, so they must have room to pay Wade, who has never been the highest paid player on the Heat.

Riley and Heat owner Micky Arison are scheduled to meet Sunday in the Hamptons with Oklahoma City Thunder free-agent forward Kevin Durant, one of six teams that have been invited to participate in that process. Riley now will arrive with a Whiteside agreement in tow.

Not a fan of Al Jeff at all really but that contract isn't bad all things considered.

And WTF are the Blazers trying to do. Max contract for Parsons and Howard??? Crazy. Such a good fun team to watch last year and they want to screw it up with those lockeroom dummies. I would rather have Crabbe over overrated Parsons and LOL at Howard and his lockeroom cancer self.

I take it in a few Parsons will be traded to the Pelicans and end his career on a minimum contract with the Spurs.
