I agree with you 100%. He's a niche player that is in the perfect situation in Golden State. The second he bolts to the East or West cellar dweller, his team will likely be lottery bound the next 7-8 seasons.

It'll be 2 years and he'll be regularly talked about as one of the most overpaid. Very good role player, but he's the epitome of a role player that is just that, a role player. Not like he's a sixth man waiting to become James harden.
i didn't say he's worth it....but in this market, someone will offer it.

This blows my mind. He is mediocre at best on D (and honestly he's bad to very bad) and has no post game. Basically they're paying 16 mil/year for some offensive rebounding and gimmicky, garbage man scoring.

LeBron really is the second coming of Michael Jordan. Transcendent basketball player who's ****ing terrible at running a team haha.

The Cavs really are going to lock in and roll with the 3 stars plus a bunch of minimum spares plan. I was thinking they might sign 3 max guys and try to retool salaries next year so they could go after a couple really solid role players.

Instead they're going all in on Thompson as their 4th piece. Kind of strange but who knows.

Yeah I've been wondering something all day. Since none of this stuff can be signed until later next week, could either the Spurs or Hawks back out of that agreement under NBA rules? I know that would be suicide among dealing with GMs in the future. Just wondering.

Cleveland kind of has to because they won't ever have cap space, so they have to keep the pieces they have. The problem Bron teams have had is that they don't pay to have the role players around him that he needs and they don't have the cap space to add anyone noteworthy. And veterans at the end of their career can only add so much to a team.

Meant long term. They're going the Heat strategy of 3 stars and a glue guy plus anyone who wants to play for peanuts and rookie contracts. Not saying they won't be in finals every year and win a title but they could have gotten a couple good players next offseason instead of doing Thompson deal.
