How did nobody crash the boards on the entire team? That's a badly coached team. How does Gordon and Evans get to take so many shots when it is obvious that Davis and Anderson are your scorers? Monty said the gameplan was for the Pelicans to foul on the last possession rather than let GSW shoot.
Didn't get to see the second half, but what a crazy game. In spite of the 60+ point first half by NO, GS was still in the game. I just don't see how anyone is going to be able to hang with the GS offense when they seem to be able to do this across an entire series. Maybe a bigger, longer defender on Curry will negate it somewhat like Kawhi or Lebron, but they just have so many other weapons.

Monty Williams has consistently been one of the three or four worst coaches in the league this season along with Byron Scott, Randy Wittman and Derek Fisher. The Pelicans have lost a lot of close games due to his play calling. It's a shame he'll most likely get an extra year thanks to the Pelicans making the playoffs. If this team is coached by Thibs, Alvin Gentry, or Billy Donovan they probably win 5-6 more games and last night's game.

With 30s left, Dray Green fouled the Unibrow going for a rebound. Should have been Pelicans ball. Warriors scored one point on that possession to make it a 3-point game.
With 14s left, Steph Curry traveled and it was not called. Curry made a three pointer to make it a 2-point game, but it should have been Pelicans ball.
Curry was fouled and should have had a four point play. But wouldn't have mattered if the previous two were called correctly because it would be a 7-point game, not a 3-point game.
Pretty big swing there.

I've been very unimpressed with the officiating in pretty much every series thus far. Far cry from the excellent officiating we saw in the 13 and 14 finals.
Aren't the playoff officials not a whole crew from the season, just the better?
Poor first round officiating is probably a factor of crews not having experience together.

The Suns offered him a max deal and the Pelicans matched. If didn't, they would have only ended up with Austin Rivers from the Chris Paul trade after two years.
Well his knee still sucked and he did nothing but sulk as the Pelicans were terrible and demanded trade after trade, but no one really wants him because he sucks and is injured all the time while making the max.
His defense is on par with James Harden in 2013 and 2014. He posted a negative box +/- yet again this season.
To show how bad his knees are now, his first three seasons, he had about 100 dunks. This year he had 0. But I'm sure he is still mad that he doesn't get enough credit for getting the Pels into the playoffs and probably still wants a trade with a team that wants terrible jump shooter making the max that can't guard anyone.

He was third in the NBA in three point percentage this year and 12th in made three per game. He can shoot, it's just everything else that he's terrible at. That max contract was the dumb move of a team that thought all it needed to vault to contention was a great shooter at PG to go with Kaman/Landry/Okafor down low, Belinelli/Ariza on the wings, and Jarrett Jack at backup PG. So they gave a no-defense playing SG a max contract, not realizing that it would leave them with a bunch of bad defenders and no starting PG because at the end of the day they ARE the Hornets/Pelicans and that's the kind of thing franchises like the Hornets/Pelicans do a lot.
