Six assists, but four turnovers and a couple more plays where he basically threw the Clippers the ball but someone else made a heroic effort to rip it away from the defense (like when Timmy got away with an offensive foul pushing Griffin on the entry pass). Manu was crucial to the big run that the bench had to get us back in the game in the first half. Two things you guys didn't mention is that he managed to get to the right place to keep several plays alive, including the last offensive rebound, and he's the only player we have who can create and exaggerate contact to draw fouls on par with the Clips.

Manu did a lot of things well, but I still think he's playing a step slow and frequently out of control.

He is definitely a step slow. But he came up big tonight.

And his left hand english pass to Duncan underneath was pure magic.

All TNT guys agree SA is tougher opponent for Houston.
Houston would have a ton of trouble with Chris Paul.
I agree with both above statements.

Seriously they had to show this guy every 2 minutes, like, "Rejoice! A white owner just happy to be here with no racist tendencies!!!"

The button up to show he is wealthy. The t-shirt to show he is just another fan like the rest of you commoners.

I didn't get to watch it since I'm flying out to LA at 7 but woke up and said **** it I'll check the score. Looks like it was another close one but I'm glad we won.

On another note I should have bumped up my travel out there and I could have went to the game or at least watched it. Poor planning on my part.

Great win last night. Again, hate playing West Coast teams with an early work schedule. I work with 100% Houston fans and they are on top of the world this morning after beating an injured and avg. Mavericks team.
Probably has already been discussed, but I think we match up better against Houston than the Clips. We are dealing with a very similar player as Deandre in Dwight Howard. And James Harden is good, but having to play against both Paul and Griffin outweighs Harden for sure. We just need to take care of business at home in game 6 and get this series over with.

I think game 6, is going to be a war, but I guess it doesn't hurt us as fans talking about the potential next round matchup.

I think we match up with Houston a bit better, just because of the PG position. We are way behind this series between CP3 and whoever we put out there. That goes away if we get to Houston. Harden will get many weak FTs like CP3, but I still like that we can throw Green, Leonard and even Manu or Diaw at him in spurts. I also think he is more prone to playing hero ball than the Clips, when things get tough.

Howard is actually less of a game changer defensively than Jordan and although he is a better offensive player than Jordan, he is nowhere near the nightmare that Blake Griffin has been.

Smith, Brewer, Jones, Terry, Ariza....although all solid role players, don't pose as much of a consistent threat (although any of them can get hot).

Plus the Spurs are a pretty solid team typically at defending the 3 ball and the paint. Houston's whole team is based on that. They would have to beat us at our defensive strengths, and aren't as prolific of scoring team as the Clips.

I would really consider starting Baynes on thursday
Splitter has literally done nothing this series

I disagree with the "hero ball" tendency with Harden. I have actually been really impressed with James' willingness to take what the defense gives him and to get everyone else involved in the action. I don't have the stats in front of me, but I imagine James probably averaged close to 10 assists in the Dallas series.

Should be a fun series if it ends up being SA vs HOU. We are weaker at the PG and SF position, but I think we are stronger at SG and C. And not to mention this board will probably get shut down with all of the back and forth talk from the fanbases

I don't think Harden is a Russell Westbrook style "hero ball" player but he definitely has it as part of his game. The only guy on the Clips who is that way at all is Paul and maybe Griffin but both are less than Harden. I think that is the point.

The Spurs do match up well with Houston because they have multiple good options to defend Harden and Howard and they are overall a deeper team. Houston is capable of winning that series but it isn't likely.

The Spurs desperately need to close this thing out on Thursday. It woul allow for at least a few days rest before another tough series. Spurs will need to re-focus quick since they would be starting on the road once again.

Harden generally plays a lot smarter on offense than Westbrook. While a ton of his offense comes off ISOs, he is generally a lot smarter about distribution than Westy.

Watch Durant give up on Westbrook:

You don't see plays like that from Harden.

I would hate to have that kind of play on my team.

Manu is generally our shot clock runner outer, and he makes way better decisions than that.

Is that stat correct that Houston has never lost to SA in a playoff series?
Knife_Party

It might be. The Rockets are the only team in the WC the Duncan has never eliminated. But that's because he's never played them...

I could watch that gif all day. The cheese eating grin from Westbrook at the end makes it completely whole for me.
