Summit, you know Harden plays in the easiest division in basketball.

1) Spurs are old and boring
2) Pelicans have long beak and large throat pouch and rely on the horrible Eric Gordon.
3) Grizzlies are built on the poo poo platter remnants from the Pau Gasol trade.
4) Mavs can't win anything while Romo is a quarterback in Dallas.

How about that MVP tonight? What a game.

Lebron took 2 weeks off this season for who knows what reason. That immediately took him out of serious consideration.

I'm sure all the resident Mavericks fans that are just now creeping out of the woodwork were petitioning the NBA to rescind Dirk's MVP award in 2007 when the 8th seeded Warriors dirty-dicked the Mavericks in the first round.

Note: Dirk was deserving of the MVP that year, just like Harden would have been deserving this year had he won it. The award doesn't always have to go to the best player in the league.

Curry was more deserving even without this series.

Curry is a better player and brings more character and leadership to the game, something Harden lacks.

There is exactly one player in the league that is the difference between a team being in the finals or being in the lottery. I get the people may get tired of giving it to the same guy every year, but if that isn't the definition of "most valuable" then nothing is.

I don't think that's totally accurate. Some old players got a year older and then Bosh missed a huge chunk of the season too. But a lot of it is Lebron. He's a dominating defender with his size+athleticism combo, and he changes the spacing and attitude of the offense just by being on the court.

Reminds me of the season that Payton Manning had that neck injury and the Colts went from a 10 or 11 win team to a 2 win team.

Debatable. I'd have put him first, with Harden a close second. That still doesn't negate the fact that Harden was a legitimate MVP candidate. They could lose game 4 by 100 points and he'd still be a legitimate MVP.

Not LeBron. MVPs don't stay on the ground at half court crying bc they didn't get a foul called.

I agree that it's not totally accurate. Still, there were some DREADFUL teams that made the playoffs in the East, and the "super team" around LeBron that went to the Finals last year couldn't. They still had Beasley, Chalmers, Anderson, Haslem, Wade, and Bosh. Of the players they lost, Rashard Lewis, Ray Allen, Shane Battier, Greg Oden, Joel Anthony, and Norris Cole, only 2 are still playing basketball. These were veterans hobbling up and down the court trying to ride LeBron to 1 more ring.

Let's not forget they added Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside as well. They were 19- 25 with Bosh this season, it wasn't like they were battling it out for the 1 seed before he went down.

People have such selective memories. Jordan worked refs over with complaining as much as anyone

Simple not true. Jordan was a gentleman and a scholar on the court. He never spoke. Jordan today could beat LeBron in 1 on 1. Jordan achieved his greatness without the use of his arms, and on one leg only. He usually played blindfolded. Jordan could "think" shots into the basket if they were initially a bad shot.

And he'll also be the all-time leading playoff scorer in about 4 more seasons.

I wish the Cavs could dump Love and get Deandre this offseason, but no way Love opts out. Maybe they can deal him.
Ulrich
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I think they'll deal Love. Mozgov/Varejao/Thompson is a fine post rotation for the Cavs with Lebron, but they need to find a competent combo guard. Someone who can run point at times and do a little more offensively than hit spot-up jumpers. Lebron isn't going to be able to be their whole offense forever, and the longer he has to do it the sooner that day will come. Irving is skilled, but Lebron also took over PG responsibility midway through the season when Irving went two consecutive games without an assist.

Man I like Steph and Harden but take either one of them and put them on the Cavs and tell me where they're at? Maybe made the playoffs.

Brooklyn and Boston both made the playoffs in the East. Pretty sure a Kyrie/Love/Curry[Harden] Cavs team makes the playoffs.
