As a spurs fan, I see the odds of this happening being slim and none. He'll either be in DC or in OKC
I know he is from there but if he loves it so much why did he not go to University of Maryland?
I'd say there's a 0.01% chance of this and that's probably generous. He'd be even better with an actual offense in SA though.

I didn't say that we wouldn't make space for him, just that there's no way he goes to SA. Big name free agents just don't go to SA.
Durant is a little different unless he has gotten married to someone that wants the big, big market. Or maybe he has changed and is now looking for that.
Spurs are going to give Kawhi a max deal. Dont see how they could afford to pay him, Durant, Duncan and Ginobilis replacement. And Durant is unlikely to go to the Spurs. It just doesn't happen.

If things are really that bad between Love and LeBron, I could see Love coming to SA if Duncan retires
I don't think the Spurs would be interested in Love, honestly. There are a lot of "locker room cancer" red flags around him.
Hasn't Love himself said he likes LA? I think that's his destination I'd he leaves CLE.

With Lebron getting love for going home I can see Durant going to Washington but the vibe I get from him is that he's a commitment type guy. He's made a commitment to the Thunder and his teammates so he'll likely stay.
My prediction is Durant will never be the player he once was. He isn't that strong, he is tall and he has foot troubles. All bad signs to have a long NBA career.

I wouldn't want Love in SA. I would love to get Durant, but I'm also concerned about his foot, and I highly doubt he would come here.
Give Kawhi what he deserves, find a good big man, and you can maybe wait on a guard to slide into Ginobili's role depending on how Patty comes back and/or Anderson develops.

Yeah why would anyone ask Tim Duncan to retire if they were able to bring in Durant (in this ridiculous video game scenario)??? He's one of the best big men in the game, even today. He's still a force on defense. He plays until he just doesn't want to anymore.

He's averaging 17/11.3/3.7/2.3 (assists and blocks for the last two) per 36 minutes and he's a legit defensive player of the year candidate (he won't win it, but he's in the top 5).
Ask him to retire? Why the f*** would anybody want to do that?
Durant is on the fast track to being the next Grant Hill, or at worst, the next Yao Ming. Three foot operations in that small of a window will be tough to recover from.
