Got me thinking of other notable father-son/coach-player situations.

Only ones I can think of is Griffey with the Seattle Mariners and McDermott with Creighton

Any others worth mentioning?

I think the Griffeys actually played together on the same team, not a coach/player situation.

Bryce Drew and Homer Drew at Valpo comes to mind.

Austin Rivers is terrible.

The only NBA father-son pair to ever be on the same team was George Karl and his son Coby with the Nuggets. Coby never played in a game for his dad though, the few times he did play, George was out after throat cancer surgery.

Yes, and a lot of famous coaches had their much less famous sons play for them.
Bobby Knight, Ray Mayer, Guy Lewis, Adolph Rupp, Tubby Smith, that OU coach from about 2 decades ago, I think...

I want to say Dale Berra played for the Yankees when Yogi was a coach? But I'm not 100% sure.

Looked it up and they were both on the Astros together ironically. Come on Houston people how come the Dallas guy has to remember that one! Slackers!
