While I agree that I wouldn't put the Mavs as the favorite, I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility for them to win the NBA title this year. There is so much more basketball to be played and things that haven't played out will play out by the end of the season and into the playoffs.

We are in trouble. I hope Dirk ok'd this trade before it was made. Othwerise, I feel really sorry for him.

Even before the trade I had them pretty high on my list of teams that could actually contend for a title come playoff time. Some teams are built for playoff basketball and others are regular season juggernauts only. I always felt like this Dallas team was built to make a run if everything aligned for them. Not sure if this trade helps their cause tbh though. Still so early though.
