Leonard runs at the 4 pretty often. Depending on matchups of course. If teams elect to go small the Spurs can matchup that way. Specifically against Miami and OKC who ran lebron/durant at the 4 a lot. Thing is the Spurs have a very versatile big in Boris who can match up with virtually anyone at the 4 spot

I'm not thrilled that he's got a brand new ailment that may derail him just as he was rounding into form, but that's not a given.

It's not a brand new ailment. Tony has been dealing with that achilles all season long. Just haven't said much about it. One of the reasons Pop shut him down earlier in the year though.

Tiago has had problems with that same calf since he came into the league. Can't blame the Spurs for being careful on that one.

I'f I'm Pop, I might try to take this game without TP and see what happens. If we win then consider bringing him/tiago back Friday which could be the game that decides the division winner.

If we lose tonight, then seriously consider resting TP and Tiago until playoffs and start resting some other guys as well. Spurs have been on a roll but they are still old and nothing would be worse then guys getting banged up the last three games of the season. Spurs practically have to win out to get a top 3 seed so losing tonight would bury that and the 5/6 is pretty even in my eyes.

Agreed. I could see him putting those guys in for a quarter or so against the Pelicans, but no reason to play them for any significant amount of time if we don't win tonight.

I don't know if TP has had a bad Achilles all year or if he has just lost a step. He has 1200 total NBA games plus all his international stuff. 40,000 minutes is a lot of minutes on someone that relies heavily on their explosiveness.

Comments like this is one thing. Constantly bringing up our recent playoff failures for seemingly no reason whatsoever is what annoys people. We are well aware of the monkey on our back. We don't need anyone else pointing it out to us, trust me
The crybaby Rockets fans are what is wrong with the board. All the discussion of the NBA is basically stuck to the four team threads, but the Rockets fans cry if anyone that likes another team even makes a comment. That kills any meaningful discussion on the entire board. It doesn't matter if it is a normal discussion of stats, upcoming games, etc. Because if it comes from someone else, the Rockets crybabies go automatically into attack mode then get the thread locked down.

It is especially funny because no other team thread (any NFL team, any other NBA team, any MLB team) is like that. But the crybaby Rockets fans can't handle other fans having actual basketball conversation on 'their' thread.

It's as pathetic as the Rockets' defense when it matters.

Nailed it. Rockets fans are the whinyist beotches on Texags. I've managed to stay off this forum for most of the season because this board has turned into the Rockets tears forum. Really pathetic.

As bad as Memphis has looked and with Houston beat up, I'd be content to just rest Parker this game. The Spurs can win a game without him, and if they lose tonight they can start to rest guys for the playoffs. The only team in the west that is scary besides Golden State is the Spurs.
