Houston is running on fumes. First, their front court is an absolute disaster. Howard is coming back from a major injury, Jones had a freaking collapsed lung and has played in 25 games this year, and Motiejunas has a back injury that's gonna keep him out for a few weeks. Second, Beverley has a torn ligament in his wrist and is going to miss a couple weeks at minimum (and they should probably shut him down and not risk making it worse. Houston isn't winning it all with their front court situation).

They've had a good season so far, but a team can only take so many injuries before performance starts to suffer. Right now, we should be able to run them out of the gym with the way we're playing.

I am really anxious to see how these playoffs go. The teams with the best records have the least amount of playoff experience. The Warriors are obviously good but do they have what it takes to win three straight best of seven series? Maybe it is just my biased wishful thinking but if the Spurs can eliminate those lapses that they have seemed to have in so many games this year, they have as good a shot as any to get back to the finals.

In truth, the only team that concerns me at this point is GSW, and if we play our best, I think we can hang.

It's all in their hands. There is no one that the Spurs can't beat when they are playing the way they ought to, but there have been too many subpar performances this year for me to feel very good going into the playoffs. More specifically, when the game has been close near the end, they've looked terrible and mostly ended up losing. According to the stat I found at teamrankings.com, they were first in the league in winning % in close games last year, but have fallen to 19th this year.

You've got to be able to finish close games if you want to go anywhere in the playoffs. No one is going to fold in the West.

Still, you've got to love going 4-1 against the Hawks, Mavs x2, Thunder, and Grizz.

I agree Ulrich that is important to close out games. That said, last year 12 of the Spurs' 16 playoff Ws were by 15 or more points. During this current run, the Spurs have won 13 of 16 and the average margin of victory has been just stupid big. Like 17 points or something. So maybe we'll just continue beating the **** out of teams and not have to worry about winning close games.

I agree they are getting back in form at the perfect time. They are destroying teams like they did last year. The only big difference I see is that there is also another team (GS) doing the same thing.

We will really need Patty Mills to step up. I just don't think Tony has the energy for 4 straight rounds every single night. Party brought a huge amount of energy and production off the bench last year

Hopefully we can still get up to at least the 3 seed. I still think it would be wise to avoid GS until the WCF.

Yep. Hopefully his shot starts to fall. I mean he's not playing any differently then last year really, his shots just aren't going in this year which is a major problem if that continues. Good news, is there's still some time for him to get it going.
