This.

And can we all agree to not mention the words 'floor slap' anymore on this thread? It hurts still.

Agreed.

Man we needed that '14 run after that. In the worst way. I didn't even turn on a basketball game until the following January.

The loss did make '14 sweeter. I mean that was as good a redemption story as you'll find in sports.

My first Spurs memory was when my great uncle took me to see them play the Bulls in the late 80s. I was probably 10. He had season tickets in Hemisfare maybe 10 rows behind the Spurs bench. Getting to see Jordan that close up was pretty awesome. They also introduced a senior from Cole HS named Shaq. I've been a Spurs fan since.

I still hope that Ray Allen will be somehow found ineligible for the 2013 Finals.

Game 7: 2013 floor slap

It's moments like that where you appreciate all the other accomplishments even more.
Hello there

I refuse to click that.

I clicked it. I'm a glutton for punishment I guess.

Ugh, how did he miss that? Whatever, it made last year so great.

Even though I hate everything that surrounds it, that floor slap may be one of my favorite Tim moments. If it was any other player I probably wouldn't care but there was just something about seeing him release his frustrations like that will always stick with me. He's always so even-keeled that I appreciate those rare moments where he sorts of lets his guard down and has a normal human reaction and isn't the robot he's sometimes made out to be. (Unless you're talking about his "who me" expression after fouling).

I know what you mean.

I was able to go to the Spurs/Mavs last Friday in SA. My father in-law has had season tickets for years and he sits in the angled section right next to the opponent's bench about 2 or 3 rows up. Amazing seats and I
spent as much time as I could watching Tim on that end of the floor knowing there's a chance it was my last time to see him play in person.

What I loved most about it was watching his facial expressions that you don't normally get to see on TV. There was a play where he had to switch on a pick and kind of got caught in no man's land on the switch
back...his facial expression as he realized they had messed up and left a wide open 3 was priceless. You could see how frustrated he was with himself that he let it happen. At 38 and 5 rings he's still as competitive as ever.

Couldn't watch it.

I couldn't even watch R** A****'s three until after '14. F*** him. I'm glad Bowen kicked him. I'm glad Manu threw him aside like a rag doll on his way to that dunk in Game 5. He is the personification of vileness. Yes, I am still mad.

I hope all the bad things in life happen to him, and to no one else but him.

So the Spurs have 34 points and there's still 3 and a half minutes left in the first quarter. They're shooting 14-17.

So after 1 quarter, the Spurs are on track to score 180.

I didn't see anything happen to him at all, but he left in the 1st or early 2nd with calf tightness. Don't think he even came back to the bench.

Negatives:
Splitter's calf
That shoulder injury broke Mills.

We can survive the 2nd. Hopefully nothing major is wrong with Splitter because a serious injury would be crushing.

Looking through the last couple of pages of this thread makes me laugh - for many of us, the Spurs were lovable losers for a very long time. I moved to San Antonio in 1972. Went to my first game in 1974 - had the 74 team poster in my room. Grew up watching great O and no D. Mark Olberding and Billy Paultz signed my basketball. Every year was "the year" until Gervin left - and the drought began. Still, I was loyal, even after moving to Charlotte. When the Spurs came to town, we were there.

We finally broke through with The Memorial Day Miracle - I was in my first year after law school. Still remember that day like it was yesterday. Scared my 1 year old son to death with my jumping and screaming when that shot fell.

I have made the trip back to San Antonio to see at least one game in every finals series.

Will forever love this team and appreciate what Pop and the big 3 have done for San Antonio, NBA Basketball, and sports in general.

What an ass whooping.

The 50+ win season streak is absolutely ridiculous. Any chance we make it to 20?

As long as we have Kawhi here a while; and Pop leaves behind his great regime here in a year or 2, we will have a good chance.
