Is Aldridge the best 4 in the game?

I think comparisons between him and Griffin are a joke. He's so much more versatile offensively than Griffin, his jumper is an actual weapon, he's a better passer, and a far better defender. I guess the real question is is he better than Kevin Love? I think it's close. Love also is a multifaceted offensive player who is a fantastic passer, plus he puts up insane rebounding numbers.

I've said for over two years now that, when healthy, Love is the best power forward in the game. But after the first month and a half of this season, i'm not so sure anymore...

This season I think you could make that arguement. He's playing great.

Timberwolves winning % in 5 seasons with Kevin Love: .291
Timberwolves winning % 5 seasons before Kevin Love: .461
Timberwolves winning % in 1 season without Garnett or Love: .293

Kevin Love is a nice player, but he has made little impact on the fortunes of the Timberwolves. I don't expect him to carry a team to the playoffs by himself, but having a greater impact on his team would show something.

That has always been my criticism of Love. It's not that he doesn't deserve to be in the discussion of top PF in the game, but I've usually put others in front of him, including Dirk, Aldridge, ZBo, and TD, but unsure on Blake.

I agree with ZBo when he decides to play hard. Which is rarely

Ridiculous stat to use. The five previous years were Kevin Garnett in his prime. The first five years of Love's tenure in Minnesota were ****ted on by Kurt Rambis.

No, the last 5 years stat had 4 of garnett, and 1 with neither. And, for a second time look at the winning percent of when they had neither. It isn't remarkably different from what love has done in his 5 years.

And Rambis was there for 2 years, and two of his other coaches should be recognizable to rockets fans.

Would you like to make more false excuses for him?

Like I wrote, good player, a stats monster, but to be considered the best at the position, he should have a greater impact on team wins than he has had.

I think some day he will, but he so far in his career, he lacks the most important ability: availability.
He needs to put together some 80+games seasons, preferably winning more than 40 games a season.

ZBo is no longer in this conversation. He can still be a beast in spurts but he's not producing on a nightly basis like LA and Love. Those two are very close and I think the Blazers would be just as good or better if they swapped teams.

Griffin is probably #3 and whether or not you consider Anthony Davis a 4 or not he will be at the top very soon. Was probably already there before the latest injury.

I agree that on paper and in terms of skills night in and night out, Griffin seems like he should be three. But he gets his ass kicked so often by other competent power forwards that it makes me a little hesitant. He literally can't hang in games against a stronger PF like Randolph or West.

If I remember correctly, Blake dominated Love the last time they played each toher. I think a lot of people still got the 2012-13 season stuck in their heads. Blake is much better this season than he was last year.

Griffin isn't even a good 4, he is just a great athlete.
