Not sure if the numbers would work, but I'd move Asik to Boston for Avery Bradley and a pick. Probably one of the 10 best perimeter defenders in the NBA.

I'd rather get Jeff Green.

No way Boston gives up either of those players for Asik.

Boston is trying to tank. If they succeed and get Wiggins or Parker, Green isn't needed. Asik lets Olynk play the stretch 4, where he needs to be. Asik also gives them the inside defense Brad Stevens wants.

The problem is that they want to shed Wallace's and Lee's contracts. No one wants those, especially not Wallace's. Also teams that are tanking usually want draft picks, and I don't see Morey giving one for Green. Maybe they can move Wallace and Rondo for Amare and Shumpert. Would they rather pay Amare $23 mil for one year or Wallace $20 mil for two years? Not to mention Rondo's $13 mil next year.

Asik for Green makes some sense for both teams, but I agree that it probably won't happen.

So what side do you rockets homers come down on when the sacred one has turned on the ****ty one

quote:
Olajuwon “I wish he was doing a better job.
“Dwight has always been athletic and aggressive and he still is. But when I watch him, what I see are opportunities that he is missing. When he gets the ball, he seems to be taking his time to decide what move to make, where he should go.
“There should not be a delay for Dwight. He must be able to make a faster recognition of the situations and react immediately with a go-to move. You must move right away before the defense has a chance to set up. You must be the one making the first move so that you can force the defender to always be the one reacting.
“I thought we were doing a good job with this when we were working together over the summer and at the start of training camp. But what I see now is that when Dwight gets in competition, he has a tendency to go back to all of his old habits. He’s just doing all of the things that he did before. He needs a reminder.”

He's right, but I'd still rather have Dwight Howard than not have him.

False. You underestimate my desire and focus to throw slander Dwight Howard's way. It is eternal.

I think it unlikely that Asik will go to a tanking team as that would be counter-productive to the tanking. He'll go to a semi-contender that is trying to make the playoffs.

I don't think anyone will trade for Amare except for his expiring contract. He's got to be the most overpaid guy at this point.

Wow, you're really reaching now. I don't see how Olajuwon is turning on Dwight based on this quote. He's simply saying that he's still got work to do if he wants to maximize his potential. He will never have the moves that Olajuwon did, but maybe if he keeps working with him we can start to see more of it on the offensive end.

Yeah, if only the LA Faker lineage of big men had the desire to work with D12 like Dream and McHale. Then maybe Dwight would have stayed in LA & the butthurt wouldn't be oozing out of Simple's ass every damn day

I agree on both points. But for Boston, does Asik for Green disrupt the tanking plans? Who scores if Green is gone? As for Amare, they can either pay Wallace and Rondo $23 mil next year, plus another $10 mil for Wallace the following year, or take Amare, Shumpert, and whatever else NY can throw in.

Boston is in a bad spot because of contracts. If they can get rid of Green and Wallace, their cap situation looks a lot better in 2015 and beyond. 2014 is probably shot either way. But they're going to want more in return for Rondo than Shumpert and likely non lottery picks, especially if they have to take Amare too.

I think it makes some sense to help Boston get out of the mess they're in. But as I said, I agree a team trying to contend makes more sense and no one really wants Amare's contract. I sure would like Jeff Green though.

With the rumors that Ainge is taking offers for Rondo I'm going to say that they aren't looking to bring in anyone that will be a future part of their organization.

I do agree that they could use Asik for sure with only 2 rookie centers and Kris Humphries on their roster.

Yep. What sucks is that the only team in the East who is really trying to compete and needs interior defense is New York, and they don't have much worth trading for. Indiana, Miami, Chicago, and Brooklyn don't really need a center, and no one else is really trying IMO. Jeff Green would fit really well because we need perimeter defense, they need a center and they are in the East. If the Celtics are able to move some of their other players, like Rondo, Lee, and Bass, then they might be open to it, but right now it seems like a long shot.

Vince Carter says Dwight Howard is the biggest crybaby he knows

quote:
“All the time,” Carter said of Howard’s whining to officials. “He always talks about how I’m a crybaby. I was like, ‘Yo, you’re the biggest crybaby I know.’ And then later, he’s like, ‘Yo, why’d you say that to me?’ But I know Dwight. It’s all good, but he is [a crybaby].

“I mean, he takes a lot of punishment, but I’m like, ‘Yo, c’mon Dwight, c’mon. You elbowed, you’re sitting in the paint the entire time. What are you whining about?’ He told me to stop crying. I was like, ‘What? Are you serious?’”

Ridiculous logic. Just because he throw on the red and yellow, you're going to cheer blindly for him? You can be loyal to a team or organization, you don't have to be loyal to a player. Especially one that wrecked one franchise and bucked another on his way over here.

I didn't like Trevor Ariza when he was a Laker, didn't like him when he was a Rocket, don't like him wherever he is stealing money at now. Same goes for McGrady, Royce White, Kevin Martin, etc.

What rationale in your mind makes you cheer for Howard? The same Howard that scoffed at the idea of being a Rocket not two off-seasons ago. When Morey tried any and everything to get him. But now that Harden is here and he bombed in Los Angeles, he's an ideal representative of the franchise? Because he chose us? When it was easy for him to do so?

**** that.
