Maybe next year, after we max out Josh Smith or Paul Millsap we can get the 5 seed and lose our first round series in 6 games instead of missing the playoffs. Still the Rocket's 9th seed will the greatest accomplishment of any Houston team this year.

I typically don't leave games early, but I left with about 4:00 left...only silver lining is that we have the tiebreaker over GS if we tie them.

I was parodying the responses people have when the Rockets have a bad shooting day. Its the NBA, bad shooting days happen. Its random chance. Some may retroactively force explanations about "wanting it more" or other nonsense. But when pushed to explain these "on clutch switch" phenomena people rarely have consistent or good responses.
It was a bad shooting night period. It has a causal connection to nothing except random chance.
I wasn't joking about Rockets accomplishments in relation to our other local teams. And I never miss a chance to take a shot at Rick Smith's 1983 establish-and-stop-the-run team building manual.

Well, the Jazz and Lakers both losing tonight helps the cause a bit...doesn't erase the stench of the GS loss, but it mitigates it some.

Amazing what good shooting can do...19% in the first half Sunday, 53% tonight. It also doesn't hurt that Utah looks kind of listless.
I think its reasonable to think that if Asik, Lin, and Chandler are your 3rd-5th best players (in whatever order) you are a true contender. Harden looks like he has the upside to be a #1. But if Millsap or Jefferson is your #2 in that scenario do you feel like you can win the title? I certainly don't. Same with Josh Smith.
Rockets need another rebounder. After Asik there is nobody.
Agreed. We have some young guys like D-Mo and Robinson, but they aren't consistent just yet. It would be nice to sign a FA next year who can hit the boards for us
