Back in action today for our playoff warm-up match. Luckily, we're away so I don't have to announce, keep score or DJ warm-up music.

Nope. It's all locked down. I'm just using the 3G. I'm the only on in the facility that's allowed a cell phone because I need it for "official business". Guards and everyone else have to leave them in the car.

Hosted a playoff doubleheader tonight - one good girls game and a trouncing in the boys game. Tomorrow night, we compete in our first ever playoff appearance in program history.

And...?

We lost one of our seniors to an ankle injury the day before the game during walk-through. Pretty bad deal; especially for him. Despite that, we played really well - went behind early twice but tied it both times. Then we gave up a PK on a late challenge with about 20 minutes left and then another goal on a quick counter as we pushed to equalize again. Lost 2-4 but it was very tight for most of the game. Great crowd at the game and big time experience for our guys and program.

Something to build on next year.

The score keepers kept score and stats (because Guiness requires it) but didn't tell any of the players because we didn't want that to negatively affect the competitiveness or fun-level. Plus, the real winners were the kids in Ghana who will benefit from the $31K we were able to raise.








But I do think we scored more points than the other team.
