Iowa lost coaching staff to Michigan. Will be interesting to see how the program rebounds. I know they lost a lot of their recruits and players after the coaching change.

Soccer Strengthens 2026 Squad with Addition of Bell

COLLEGE STATION -- The Texas A&M soccer team bolstered its backline with the addition of Arizona State transfer Norah Bell head coach Bobby Shuttleworth announced Thursday.

"We're excited to welcome Norah to the Texas A&M soccer program," Shuttleworth said. "She has excellent physical tools and a dynamic presence on the field. That allows her to impact the game on both sides of the ball. Her versatility across the backline gives us important flexibility as she can play multiple positions and adapt to different roles."

Last season the multi-faceted defender played in 19 matches for the Sun Devils, registering 18 starts as a freshman. She logged 1,298 minutes helping the Arizona State defense record eight shutouts and a 0.98 goals-against average.

Bell recently earned a call-up to the Canada U-20 National Team international camp, serving as a substitute in an April 16 friendly against Costa Rica.

"Norah brings valuable international experience with Canada, which will be a great addition to our team," Shuttleworth said. "Defensively she is strong, reliable and difficult to break down while also having the ability to contribute dynamically to attack when the opportunity arises. We're thrilled to add her to our squad and we can't wait to see how she continues to develop here at Texas A&M.

Bell and recent signee Ciara Jade Mitchell look to join a growing list of Canadians to star at Texas A&M, including Mia Pante, Jazmine Wilkinson and Andersen Williams.

Her club experience includes play at the highest levels in the Canadian west. Bell played for Kamloops United FC in League1 BC and Thompson Okanagan FC of the British Columbia Premier League. She also saw time with the BC Soccer Provincial Program Development Group and the Vancouver Whitecaps Elite Academy's National Development Centre.

Knudsen Earns National Team Camp Invite

COLLEGE STATION -- Texas A&M soccer's incoming freshman Brynja Knudsen earned an invitation to an Iceland Women's National U19 training camp slated for June 1-2 in Reykjavik.

The squad is assembling for prep sessions as Iceland mounts up for action in the UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship from June 27-July 10. Stelpurnar Okkar are slated to battle Austria, Spain and Switzerland in the group stage of the tournament.

Knudsen plays for Knattspyrnufelagio rttur (Throttur) who is currently in fourth place in Besta Deild Kvenna, the top league in Iceland. She has 60 career appearances for Throttur, including four during the most current campaign.

The Reykjavik native has registered 22 caps with youth national squads. She played five matches with the Iceland U17 squad in 2024 as part of the Euro 17 qualifying and did the same with the U19 side in 2025.

Knudsen will become the second Iceland native to ever don the Maroon & White, joining Asdis Halldorsdottir (2018-2019).

How is she eligible to play if she is a professional?

You can play in certain professional leagues as an academy player. You don't get paid but train and play alongside professional players. The USL here in the states allows academy players (E Osteen, K Fuller, S Strawn) all played with the USL team in Dallas. The top leagues don't allow it but UNC was going to send my oldest to Sweden to play with a professional team there instead of enrolling early in the spring back when she was committed. Hutton was going to do the same thing but neither ended up making it to Sweden or UNC.
