Hard to believe that Hayes was basically relegated to the bench last year in G's system. Pretty incredible and telling of how some of our players are being mismanaged and developed.

Calzada is exceptional. Clearly playing full out despite significant discomfort. She's fast, strong, has excellent ball control and the ability to beat a player or two with the ball at her feat.
I'm assuming she has a shot as well but not sure.

She's a CB and will stay on the field. No way she goes in and starts splitting time in a midfield and forward rotation.

Oh there will be several in the portal when this very sad season ends, just watch a mass exit. The players have dreamed their whole lives to play soccer at higher level and they deserve better coaching.

Sadly, its not surprising Hayes and Boeckman were benched and shunned last year. Its happening on an even larger scale this year if you talk to anyone in the know. There are some really good players on the bench, but if they don't get on the field, they can't prove it... and that's by design. What I can't understand is why? How does that benefit the team? While we all have an opinion, someone that matters really should to be speaking to the players. Anyone watching can see the discouragement and frustration on even the most well regarded players.
Have to disagree a bit on this. Every single player on this roster has received an opportunity to contribute. The issue has been, especially for the attacking players, none of them produced at even a mediocre level. Beside Bacerra on free kicks, nobody that has played can put the ball in the net consistently. Not one player has shown the ability to break down defenders 1v1 (maybe Pante but she eventually loses the ball before a shot). Those transfers who want more time, haven't shown they deserve it.
Those transfers have never gotten the chance to start once and they have never once played more minutes than any girl who was on the roster the last few years. They started on programs who are arguably better than texas A&M has been if not at the same level and coke here and play reduced minutes. Coach G has not fielded a winning conference team since covid yet he'l continues to start the same girls and no improvement in their play has been shown
You are entitled to your opinion, but i think there"s a real difference between getting 0 to 10 minutes after several subs have been made versus not producing after 75 minutes or more of a starter's opportunity. That's what I mean by "real opportunity".
They played 14 players vs MSU. Either there is zero depth and the coach recruited incredibly poorly or the coach is choosing to gas his favourites and leave a block of capable fresh legs on the bench.
