The Aggies weathered the test that was Arkansas and now get to face the best defensive team in the nation. The Aggies will close out the regular season at home in a match against Mississippi State. This one kicks off Sunday at 5PM. This one will air on the actual SEC Network.

Wow. Mississippi State. Yes, the former worst team in the SEC year after year. The team that never made conference tournaments... THAT Mississippi State. They have blossomed into one of the best teams in the nation. And the BEST defensive team in the NCAA. Through 14 games, they have allowed just THREE total goals and they have posted clean sheets in all of their home games.

Miss State is 14-1 on the season and a perfect 8-0 in conference play. They lack a conference game due to the hurricane, but they will be making that up next week at South Carolina.

They allowed one goal in conference play, in a 2-1 win at Georgia. They allowed their other two goals in their lone loss at Wake Forest (1-2).

Now, a lot of their conference wins have been of the 1-0 variety, but that consistency of defense is incredible. In total, Miss State has outscored opponents 31-3 and outshot them 279-86. That means, on average, Mississippi State is outshooting their opponents 18-5.

It's going to be tough for the Aggies to find any space to work with. And creating scoring opportunities has been a season long problem for the Aggies as it is. This is going to be an uphill fight where at least 1 more point should seal A&M's entry into the conference tournament.

Sucks to be on the fence. Fingers crossed.

We have so many good chances.

But we always seem to have a costly lapse on defense.

And I'm pretty sure that we are locked into the SEC tourney now - win, lose, or tie - today.

It's the same thing every match. Same mistakes. Every. Single. Match.

Yes. That's the unfortunate part as we will need to win a match so we don't fall below 500.

Girls start arguing a call with their hands in the air and Miss State just keeps pushing forward and scores…

Same with a basketball coach. But you don't see the basketball players lose their focus. If anything, they get stronger and more determined to overcome adversity.

Miss St coach just got a yellow card I think. Their girls didn't fall apart.

We play kickball. Had some chances. Poor defending as typical. Poor (well, essentially absent) midfield play. Forwards take too many touches. But. . that ref made some terrible calls. Not causing a goal, but certainly we couldn't slide tackle without being called

not the case with G's girls… when he uses every media availability to talk about how the refs gave LSU 2 girls rather than owning up to the loss, you have a culture where there is no accountability and lots of whining and complaining
