Aggie Soccer's weirdest non-conference schedule ever continues with a roadtrip through Connecticut. A&M is headed to New Britain, CT to face the Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) Blue Devils on Thursday night.

The game kicks off at 6PM Central time and I believe it will stream for free here: http://necfrontrow.com/game/12375

CCSU is bad. They're 0-5-1 on the year and have managed 1 goal so far. And zero shutouts. But they have played the likes of Holy Cross and UMass Lowell.

Why are they on the schedule? I presume the philosophy has been to schedule games against conference champions and CCSU won the Northeast Conference title last season. They were then promptly eliminated from NCAA Tournament play by Penn State (0-7).

Based on early results though, this team appears to have taken a step back as they've been less competitive against the same non-conference teams they faced in 2023.

A&M should get another big win and possibly some pizza, but unfortunately, they're too early to view the fall foliage.

Maybe because we brought in a bunch of forwards to do what we had a hard time doing last year - finish chances - yet we still have the same problem. And the midfielders are the ones scoring the goals, for the most part.

But I'm stubborn and still have faith in our girls !!

BIRMINGHAM Texas A&M goalkeeper Sydney Fuller was named the SEC Freshman of the Week following her performance in Thursday's 2-0 triumph over TCU.

Fuller had five saves in a brilliant performance as Texas A&M snapped a three-game losing streak in the series against the Horned Frogs. In addition to her stops, she went to the mat twice to snuff out 1-v-1 situations and dominated the air on corner kicks.

On the season, Fuller has played in four games, posting a 1.00 goals-against average with 11 saves and two shutouts. Texas A&M is the only team in the nation with three goalkeepers recording shutouts in 2024.

The Aggies head to the Nutmeg State for the first time in program history, facing the CCSU Blue Devils Thursday at 6 p.m. followed by a Sunday noon match versus the UConn Huskies.

Props to Coach G for always scheduling difficult teams… we are tied at the half with the soccer powerhouse Central Connecticut (who barely have lighting on their soccer field)
