Playing in a dangerous manner. There are a couple of ways to get an IDK in the area. That's one of the more unusual ways to pull it off.

Most common being crappy back pass that the keeper has to save, right?

That's the only other time I've seen it happen.

All this success is just going to get the Gio/Greg talk going some more.

Back pass and trickery are the others I can think of. Although I guess if you were insane enough to stop play in the area for dissent that would be indirect.

Missed one. If you are insane enough to call impeding without contact that's indirect. But that's even more insane than stopping to card a defender for dissent.

Only if he pulls him at halftime while he's on a hat trick.

Speaking of which… do we go mass subs here for experience and injury prevention or do we keep the good times rolling?

I really enjoy Beasley when he's commentating.

I wish he'd be on the broadcast more often

Also keeper picking up the ball, putting it down, then picking it up again.

I had one called on me in my keeper days for too many steps back when they counted steps. That was dumb.

I've seen it called for obstruction once or twice (incorrectly) as well, but no one calls obstruction these days either. Edit: that's probably what you meant by impeding.

Just remember the names of people you see online that are choosing to still talk about Germany, and how poorly they have done at times, while we are in the middle of stomping a mudhole in Ghana.
Their opinions no longer matter

It's almost like this isn't a young team and can't/won't learn.

Yes, they shat the bed against Germany.

They curbstomped Ghana in the first half.

And people act like coaches can't learn/grow either.

Some certainly don't (Fran is the epitome of this in my book), but most coaches are quite adaptive and do change/grow throughout their career.

I'm beating this drum too much probably - but as much as I don't like the hire (and rehire) of Ggg, he has grown into the role and made a lot of changes to the way he handles things. He's absolutely a competent NT coach now. That couldn't be said years ago when he was doing stuff like shoe-horning Adams into RB so he could play MLS nobodies in midfield.

Given some structural constraints within USSF, perhaps the easiest path for us to get a fantastic coach is to find someone who's willing to grow and let them grow into it. We're halfway there with Ggg. I hope he keeps honing his craft and gets himself and the team ready for a strong push in 2026. I'm encouraged that guys like BJ are sticking around on staff after this wild year. As bizarre as this rehire process has been, it's the kind of thing that could make someone rethink things and grow tremendously. I'd rather hope for that than for him to fail.

It's what we have so we need to hope he continues to learn and grow and improve.

His roster selections have gotten better.

His rosters have gotten better to select from. The pool he was picking from 4 years ago versus today arent even close to the same depth and skill.
