Your Texas Aggies head to Nashville for a Thursday night game at Vanderbilt. This match kicks off at 7PM and will stream on SEC+ through the ESPN App as well as broadcast live audio through RadioAggieland.or the 12thManApp.
Vanderbilt has become a pretty formidable SEC team since head coach Darren Ambrose arrived on campus in 2015. Last year, Vandy went 12-5-4 and advanced to the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament. A&M owns the all-time edge in the series, winning 10 of 12 against Vanderbilt.
Vandy is currently 6-3-3 overall with a 1-3 conference record. They are, however, undefeated at home, where the Aggies will face off against them. The three conferences losses came to three of the top teams in the SEC. That includes a 1-3 loss at South Carolina, a 0-1 loss at Alabama, and a 1-2 loss at Georgia. The win was a 2-0 result over Ole Miss.
In total, Vandy has outscored opponents 21-11. Scoring has been led by Rachel Deresky and Courtney Jones, who each have 4 goals on the season. Kate Devine has done a solid job in goal, allowing just 9 goals on the season while totalling 27 saves. Vanderbilt has six shut outs on the year, while being shut out twice by opponents.
This feels like it should be a fairly evenly matched game and will serve as a good challenge for the Aggies, who do seem to have some momentum building. We'll need to keep that going for a Thursday night win.
