I think we do need to advance to a top 5 league so that playing professional soccer means you're rich.

That's how the game will compete for more of our top athletes.

But without champions league, you're right it'll be tough.

Not young players want to go to Europe.
when was the last time you looked at salaries in the MLS?

Messi plays in Dallas this Sunday night now.

And if both his Miami and Houston both win on Sunday, Messi would play Houston next but idk where.

No one dreams about going pro in a sport and imagining making the league minimum, lol

Tickets will start at $199 and will be available at price points of $199, $249, $399 and $499. Over 80% of the tickets will be at the $199 and $249 price points. "

And they don't understand there are 10x's more jobs in professional soccer than in NBA or NFL or MLB.
If you want to be a pro athlete, soccer is by far your best option.

Soccer Federation sets the prices, not FCD.

I think I bought tickets to see Zlatan play FC Dallas and on both occasions he didn't even travel with LA.

Then they're the ones sticking it to them

Austin didn't advance but season ticket holders had to commit in advance for everything beyond the group stage and the prices were comparable to a regular season ticket price.

Bale with LAFC last year was the same...it was a crap shoot.

Thst being said, I think Messi will play at least some. The league would get too much push back

If you committed to entire Leagues Cup then you had a discounted price.

As for "will he play" - MLS is handling Messi like the amazing opportunity it is. They've got the entire league centered around gaining more and more exposure. He may not play a full game, but almost zero chance he doesn't get on the field.

Lots of poepl around the stadium had their phones out watching the Miami game. The TVs around concessions were split between Miami and the actual FCD game in the stadium.

In build-ups he makes good decisions. In front of the goal with the ball at his feet he's technical. he has a poacher's instinct. and mostly, he did well last night, but you're spot on. He's only 22 and I get the feeing he's already close to his max potential. hard to believe he's only 22. Maybe he'll find another level.

You can't convince me at this point that the MLS haven't arranged for teams to throw their games and give Miami a cup run to generate interest. Too many "magical" moments for Messi in this run. The late FK goal. The insane FC Dallas comeback and ridiculous OG by Dallas.
