Obviously Rice is the future but I think he will have a learning curve of several weeks at least, maybe more.

If we want to have a chance of competing with City this season, Partey is crucial, particularly for the start of the season.

Off-season topic but does anyone think there will be another invincible season? If Man City hasn't been able to do it lately I lean towards no but I guess things could perfectly align at some point

Man City certainly can, but if they still managed to lose 5 matches last year with that squad and the state of the rest of the EPL, maybe they don't have it in them. Knock on wood.

I think they end up playing too many matches to pull it off. As long as they don't get bounced early from champions league and the fa cup. Just can't play 50+ matches with that level of focus.
Also Ilkay leaving is a big piece. That guy seemed to score 5-7 key goals a year for them.

Its possible and if anyone could do it, its probably City. But its only happened twice in 152 years of competitive soccer in England. Once in 1888 in the first year of the newly formed First Division and then our Invincibles in 03-04.

Its just that hard to do.

And imo, Ramsdale has felt like he has regressed over the last 8+ months. He's got plenty of mistakes in him, possibly too many for a title challenging team. If we brought Raya in, it definitely brings competition that Turner isn't bringing.

Could also add in the fact that Arteta wanted Raya before we got Ramsdale.

I don't know that I would be letting Turner go unless we're confident in getting Raya (who I think can compete and maybe supplant Ramsdale). Turner definitely isn't long for Arsenal but I think he's a decent backup.
